Hi everyone , heres some pics of my modified (and hopefully improved) MS. In my quest for saving clipnodes , i had to shrink it quite a bit , but it turned out ok i think . Its located at the controls of the ship, the marines have entered trough the emergency elevator leading to the escape pod . The lighting is still a bit of a WIP , but its getting there. I plan to add some destruction detailz , but im waiting to see what i can afford in terms of ressources. comments and opinions welcomed, cheerz all, later <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    after trying to get the CC to fit with the rest, i decided that it would be foreign, brought in by the Marines , wich they hook up to the ships computers. im working on a wire {texture to link it together , i also put the CC on wheels <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> Tought it could fit with the idea... heres a WC pic of it close up

    Nice, I like the very open feel of the start, the large windows really add to it. That CC just looks awesome too, really looks more portable.


    Just one suggestion (might just be me) maybe if you had the consoles emmiting a very faint green glow. Nothing overpowering, just enough to give the hint that they're on.

    EDIT: Oh nvm, just noticed you said lighting was wip.

    The CC looks pretty good too, although you might want to make the wheels not as visible. It kind of looks like a go-kart now.

    I like the part about the CC being hooked up to wires, but the wheels...arent good at all IMHO. It looks really bad.

    excellent texturing job there. the CC definitely looks out of place seeing it placed there randomly. maybe put it in that little back cove? also, some parts of the ceiling seem low - raise it up for the sake of the onos - the MS tends to get packed with aliens/marines/structures so make sure it's not too cramped.

    But i feel like the textures are alittle HL DM style. But it's maybe that most ns maps use the ns and ns2 wad. so yeah.

    I feel that Marcos could be right, but only about the flooring. Does not strike me as a NS map.

I think part of that has to do with the fact that all wall textures in NS are either metal (80%) or concrete , the only set that stands apart from that are the wall_tech series , they look more like plastic\resin type material. I tryed to make the new textures fit that style, so they could be used together. Hopefully in the end , the map will give out the spaceship feeling i was aiming for <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    TommyD ,you were right bout the CC ,looked out of place and randomly dropped . Took your suggestion, looks lots better now , just gonna add a removed panel in the back of the elevator , to simulate the connection of the CC to the sships own system. cheerz <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Haze , i knew my CC would not get everyones vote <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> im not a big fan of the CC model , reminds me of the old Tron arcade cabinet (the nice one were you could sit inside) . But mostly i find it hard to get it to fit with the rest of the architecture surrounding it <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> ive seen a few people pull it off, and it looks wicked!
    If only it had some handles or something , now it looks so massive and clunky , you would need a wagon to drag it out on a mission <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> However , i never pictured a marine actually riding it , i was thinking more like a walk along <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> sort of like a bomb removal robot.     Looks very sumptious. If you can, try and get a few custom .mdls to decorate space, like a few asteroids, the marines' spaceship or maybe a planet or distant sun. I'm considering doing this for my map, and I believe it adds a higher degree of atmosphere and eye candy <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
