Acces To Video Card Denied?

JezpuhJezpuh Join Date: 2003-04-03 Member: 15157Banned
Whenever I go to the controll panel > hardware, and select my videocard (wich is missing software atm, it's a geforce 4 mx 420), I point the installation files to the location where the 53.03 drivers are located.
After finishing it's install I get some weird error that tells me the acces is denied.

Double V-TF?

Access is denied because it's been stolen!

Sounds odd. I'd be pretty **** if I couldn't access the files to my $350 video card.

Try using the installer instead of going through control panel. Just my suggestion.

In that case you should have a startup disk or driver/software disk that came with the computer. You could try:

    1. uninstalling the current drivers
    2. restart
    3. install new drivers.

If the new drivers don't work properly you can always reinstall the original drivers.

Already tried that before... I think. I've tried many things.
Hmm, I'll try it again.. hold on.

*Edit - there is no uninstaller :\

    What OS are you using?

Are your drivers listed under "Add/Remove Programs"?

And just for clarity, do you have a Driver/Software disk that came with the computer?

Unistall the drivers through add/remove programmes. Then you're probably best off installing non 5x.xx detonators as they don't seem to work too well with the MX range of cards. They've been nothing but trouble to any of the pc's i use with them in. The seem to work ok, but they won't let you change any settings for the card. The control panel just crashes when you try.

True true!! But what other drivers do you suggest me? 4x.xx?
And since nvidia.com is so newb unfriendly, where do I get older drivers?
