<div class="IPBDescription">Beta 4 style</div> With the ending of one round, and the beginning of a new one, a new thread is called for. I'll be maintaining the player list with coordinates and names by editing this thread from now on. For those of you looking for the old thread, you can find it <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=10&t=48659&st=0' target='_blank'>here</a>, in all of its massive 111 page glory.

For those of you unaware of Astrowars, it's a web based space empire game. You manage your planets, colonize new ones, trade with other rulers, and send out massive fleets of dewm all with a few clicks. Much of the allure of astrowars is that you don't have to spend hours micromanaging your empire, but only 5 mins of maintenance can have you set for the next 12 hours. That's not to say watching it update every 15 minutes won't have its rewards (how'd you think I got so far up? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> ).

It doesn?t replace your gaming experiences, it just supplements them. Its 56k friendly, no flash windows or anything like that. And I'd really like to share the goodness - so I'd encourage you all to take a look. You can either go <a href='http://www.astrowars.com/register/?r=18436' target='_blank'>here</a> to register as a referral, and it will give me a very small bonus of culture (nothing big).

Take a look at the Glossary for any questions you have, or you can just ask here. We had a good group of NS forumites playing last round, and we love to give help and solve any problems.

You wont regret it, its the simple things in life that are often the best. Easy to get the hang of, with a satisfaction rating of 10/10. If you have any questions about the game once you've signed up, feel free to pm me or post questions here.

As for signup times, I'm planning to sign up ASAP. Seeing as there is a range of 50 systems you could spawn in if you signup at the same time, there's never any guarantee of where you'll start. However, if there is interest, we can still organize something.

For your name, I really believe it's up to the person if you want to have NS_ or TSA_ in your name. I for one choose not to, since I do not want to become a target because of it. However, I will check for any neighbours using this list, and I will always look before attacking someone. Nevertheless, it does make identification easier, and there will be people willing to help you out more readily. The choice is up to you.

Now with the introductory blurb done (which was partially stolen from Marine01 <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->), we can move on to posting your coordinates. <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=Msg&CODE=4&MID=14456' target='_blank'>PM</a> me your coordinates so we don't spam the topic and I'll post them up. We don't have a formal alliance, but it helps to identify friends in our area.

    No afks in my system this time, but that figures since I joined early. On the contrary, all the people I'm with are really active.

    So far I'm going for the standard robo, farm, robo, farm, robo, farm, robo, farm while researching Social. What about you guys?

    i was gena go robo robo robo till i start getting good res, then start on everything else.

    MY PROBLEMS
    -I cant build anyhing
    -crusiers and destroyers wont even show up buildable
    -my old name didnt work/ neither did any new name with tsa_ or NS_ so i tried like 10 names then finally just made one called keef4652609 (i couldnt even make lodwkeef)
    -i dont have options for starmap, cant see where i am.

    I'm seriously being uncled out, bad.

    I had the same problem where I would spend points but nothing would happen. I logged out completely and logged back in and it worked.

    2) Cruisers take lvl 15 math to be buildable and battleships take lvl 15 physics.

    3) I had some troubles with re-registration so I kept trying to login over and over until it worked.

    4) You really don't have a map option? Try logging out and logging in again.

    dude me and my friend have had all kinds of problems with astro.

    -astro never let my friend(mullet) build anthing but destroyers. he had no other options
    -i couldnt transfer money to anyone
    -mullet didn't even have the trade tab
    -mullet couldnt accept anything or send
    -sometimes i couldnt buy anything with astrodollars

    it was really kinda ****, but i kept playing(at least i could build bs and crusiers)

    As for these problems:

    You couldn't transfer money becuase
    1) They had over 450 points or
    2) They were less than lvl 1

    Mullet didn't have a trade tab because he was not lvl 1 yet. This is also the reason he could not accept anything or send anything.

    As for you not being able to buy anything with A$, I don't know. That's just weird.

    I dont trust Butz and Reinhard, Kepi seems to be from america so there shouldnt a be a communication barrier but I dont know who he is.

    No luck for me, shouldnt have registered so early, now theres crowd of die-hard players surrounding me who will shoot at sight. Mostly theyve been idle for 2-11 hours, though that doesnt mean much but seems to me this time I really need allies from my system.

    Well this time around we are all starting at the same time so we should all be able to grow fast enough to protect our selves.
    Your best bet is to make an alliance with the ppl in your system. Than you will not have to worry so much for a while.

    In my system I have contacted the other 3 ppl and 2 have aggreed that its best to work together and only kill off any AFK players in the system. It doesnt look like that is going to happen though, due to the fact that all 4 of us are seriouly active.

    But I have fellow TSA very near my system so I am happy!
    I cant wait till we have enough cash to create the alliance, can you imagine how powerful our alliance will be with 40 or more members all apart of the TSA! We have a good chance of winning this!

    I have an alliance with 1 guy in my system, we will team up and take out the other 2 guys and then split the system.     The TSA will have to control both systems quickly!
