<div class="IPBDescription">Just though of NS's cool name</div> I was just wondered why Natural Selection got it's name "Natural Selection" ?
It's a cool name and is easy to remember because it doesn't sound like any other lame mod like "Marines vs. Aliens 2.01" or something <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

So why do you think it was called Natural Selection? It was a good selection they took. Really natural name <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    For me Natural Selection sounds more like what team you choose.     More like, the smartest race wins. Both marines and aliens use the tools that god and the hive have given them, respectively, to defeat the other. Both have the ability to be "stronger", if one is to define that by physical strength, but the team that uses that strength wisely, is the one that shall emerge victorious.

    Note the word "fittest". Not "strongest", not "smartest", but fittest. MrMojo has got it. In some environments, it may be strength, in some it may be brains, but the theory of natural selection (which is fundamentally flawed as applied to "evolution" since it predates certain critical elements that only came after genetics) does not dictate which it may be. In fact, in many environments, it's the ability to run, run, run, very, very fast.

    Darwin's "The Origin of Species" is an interesting read, though, for historical reasons (and just cuz it's fun). Highly recommended. Of course, so is Euclid's "Elements", Archimedes' "On Floating Bodies", Heron's "Pneumatica", and nevermind, I'm babbling again. Fun stuff, though, for the historically minded.

    Nope i'm from Denmark. We have another school system here but i think on something similar to college of some sort. I dunno.     No, high schools are not called college in England. They are called Secondary Schools. Or highschools. Colleges are after Secondary, then its university (college and university are both optional.)
