<div class="IPBDescription">Can ya solve it?</div> <b>Hello fellow mappers</b>

Iam working on a map called <i>"ns_alcatraz"</i>.
Its a map of a highsecurity prison spaceship.

But i get a error when i play it (good compiled).
(it says something about info_compile_parameters, something about "can't int info_compile_parameters... cant see what it says, its gone to quick).

Please help me solve this, I MUST MAP!

Hmm, can't be sure but the fact that it mentions "hull" suggests that you're not compiling with the correct NS hull file.
Sorry, but I don't have the precise command to do this at hand. Check the mapping guidelines for the information <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Do you have the latest compilers ?

Can't you just go into the directory and read the filename.log? If you do that, copy and paste that into your first message there and it should give us enough info to help you out.

ed: thought he meant compiling it, not trying to play the game as a client. WOops.

In the Custome Hullfile inside info_compile_parameters:

    C:\Sierra\Half-Life\ns\nshulls.txt

    Right?

Could one of you guys, who have fully func. Maps (please spell funcunally - for me, dont knot how to spell it - ya know like func_"something" <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> )

The can't init info_compile_parm is ok. It just saying it doesn't know what it is because it is used by the compile tools and not ns. As for the other thing are you using the latest complie tools, the right hull file. bad node num might mean the clip nodes. Like prostyle said give us your compile log plz. should be ns_alcatraz.log
Compile params would be nice also.

It looks like you're not running opt_plns after hlrad. The modified compile tools have much higher resource limits than Half-Life can handle; opt_plns is needed to get the bsp into a state where the Half-Life engine can load it.

Is it supposed to have that setting?

    ok...

sooooo what do i have to do?
    how do i correct this?

Start using Opt_Plns. Get the latest version of Cagey's tools webbed up top on this board.

Then <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=56316' target='_blank'>Go Here</a> for instructions on setting up BC fr use with Opt_Plns. Also, as someone said earlier, why are you using two different hull clipping settings? I don't usually adjust mine. Try just leaving it at default instead of Legacy | smallest.

    When i placed the info_compile_parameters, i did:

    Sat custome hullfile to: C:\Sierra\Half-Life\ns\nshulls.txt

Sat generate clipping hulls to off (maybe theres the point?). But i did it course cagey said, I should. It was something about it turning the value upside down. (read: <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=56390' target='_blank'>This Forum</a>
Thats all... what i recall... I iam must certan that that was the only thing i did
    ...

and i have Zoners Custom Build Backup HLFix OptPlns.bcs.txt
and i did put it in Specs and rename it to: Zoners Custom Build Backup HLFix OptPlns.bcs.

Could you give me all you settings?
so i could reuse them for my map creation.

I don't think I can help you really, I never use info_compile_params. Try compiling without the compile params.

These are my Batch Settings though:

    CSG
    |X| WadInclude

    BSP
    |Defaults|

    VIS
    |X| Full

    RAD
    |X| Extra
    |X| Smooth |80|
    |X| Chop |32|

    Opt_Plns
    |X| No Pause

Make sure that BC is not set for the things in the info_compile_param. Or set it in BC and get rid of the info_...

clip hull type [ smallest ] [ legacy ] is what it is set as / then the default setting

It has something to do with clipnodes. I know that from some coding websites I found.

    Down a bit

EDIT: looking in there you don't have any clipnodes. try generate clipping hulls to on. Maybe it is just that one param. Best if you update then try and fix it

I told wall to specify noclip on in a info_compile_parameter entity to get around a bug in HLCSG that reads the information backward -- apparently HLBSP is reading the value as it was meant to be, so it's shutting off clip hull generation and the hull check on game startup is crashing since there aren't any clipping hulls present.

Wall -- I guess you'll have to temporarily remove the info_compile_parameter entity from your map and use batch compiler to specify your compile settings instead. This will fix your problem until the info_compile_parameter code is working properly.

Consider info_compile_parameter support broken in p12; I'll release p13 soon to fix the problem.
