I sure hope you have bigger hands than a 7 year old. Unless you're...ahem...verically challenged, then I could understand why.
It only has five problems:
1. The stupid Xbox logo in the middle of the controller...that could benefit from...uh...a compass or more buttons or something.
2. The slightly over weightedness of it. Not that it's to heavy, it just seems to have dead weight from the plastic that's not necessary.
3. The stupid "Plug that lets you plug your controller in" emergency "lets not pull down the 50 pound XBox" thing. Seriously. I've tripped over my cord, and the stupid thing hasn't come apart to stop me from tripping, and to boot, my Xbox didn't fall off my shelf. I mean, they'll fall out when they're dangling there, but a horizontal force? God forbid they do what they're intended too. (I hate that stupid 'break-away' cord idea...its dumb)
4. The Select button is called the Back button...I'm all for originality, but last time I checked Back accesed menus or scores...it rarely ever actually goes BACK. I doubt 'Select Button' is copyrighted either.
5. It can't function as a DVD player controller...in case you...uhh, lose the DVD remote...behind the fridge or something.... *whistles innocently*...moving right along...
6. It's tooo freaking SMALL, man, puff that thing up to XBOX size itself! I mean come on, if you're gonna make a controller, make it BIG! Err, wait. It's the perfect size just the way it is...er, unless you have midget hands, then you need finger extensions or something. There were supposed to be 5 right? yea, please disregard number 6.
Xbox controller - just right for me, and some (....aparently giant sized 4'7") seven year olds. PS2 - works for me, but I think it's slightly small. Gamecube - awkward, but loved. At least it's not an N-Gage
sorry guys but on the controller stakes the PSX/PS2 loses for one simple fact; its the only pad that actually causes joint pain in some players. I get horrendeous pains in my fingers after using them for a while and I've actually met a few other people who suffer from it too. It only happens with the psx/ps2 controllers. Don't know what part of the design it is that does it but it certainly doesn't add any love to the stupid pad for me =/
With that out of the way I loved the N64 pads, the GC ones are nice but with the small complaint of the z button which seems like it was tacked on as an after thought. The xbox control was comfortable but too large and clumsy (not tried an s yet), the NES controller was unergonomic as heck but it did the job. Snes and Megadrive weren't too bad; I've had them clamped in my lil mits since childhood without any real complaints so it's good enough for me ^^ Dreamcast was ok but they should've given us the japanese one; the thumb stick is set a little too high up for my hands in the EU/US one but not so much so that it actually bothered me to the extent the xbox did. I also used to get a lot of pressure on my nails from gripping the pad in intense fights so I guess some padding on the underneath where the fingers naturally go would've been handy, but again it wasn't really enough to cause CHRONIC AGONY like a certain other control ~glares at the playstation series~

Even I think so, and I USED TO own a gamecube. I'm sorry, but compaired to others, it was not worth it, at all. Oh and sadly this has about as much chance of being real as Mario delivering pizza to your door with Luigi leaving the engine running in the delivery van. However, the Playstation Portable (PSP) is very much real, and will hopefully rock the house... especially if they port over some PS1 classics.
I really don't know how you people can like N64 controllers or Xbox controllers or PS2 constollers over GameCube's controllers. It makes no sense at all.
~GC~ The GameCube controller is perfect size. When you hold a GC controller your hands perfectly wrap around it. All buttons are in easy reach and they are very light. Add a WaveBird to the picture and you've got a top-notch gaming controller.
~N64~ I love the N64 controller and I always will. Buttons are in good places, you can add on a rumble pack, or a memory card if needed. The controller was VERY light but the control stick... Bad. After about a year of use the control stick loses sensitivity and gets all crusty and just plain nasty.
~PS2/PS1~ I also love the playstation controller, it's almost just like the GameCube's controller. I just wish the D pad was a traditional one, rather then the kind with the space inbetween them.
~REGULAR Xbox controller~ One word. Suck. The D pad is better then PS's but it is still not as good as GC's or N64's. The controller is much heavier than all the others and has tons of wasted space. Add the wierd 2-part controller and the easy-tangle cord and you've got a pile of crap. I heard they have a wireless controller that costs $70 and takes 4 AAA batteries which equals RIPOFF.
Now that we have finished with what is used for playing, let's go over what these systems can play anyway. I'm not going over N64 or PS1, there is no need to do so.
~GC~ All the classics. Everyone has fun beating each other up in Super Smash Bros. Melee or dodging flying Metroids in Metroid Prime. Everyone has a great time with their friends playing Mario Party 5 or shooting shells flying at Karts in Mario Kart Double Dash!!
~PS2~ Has all the basic games. Doesn't really have any exclusives other then SOCOM 1 and 2. It's Dynasty Warriors series is pretty nice too. Also with it's Grand Theft Auto series it is a very nice system to have.
~Xbox~ Many exclusives, except just about every single one sucks. Sure, they have the epic Halo and the great Counter-Strike, but that's all you can say about the system. Other then that it's all a bunch of crap.

Seriously, they must have been going for the SUV crowd when they made that thing...
EDIT: But of course, it doesn't end there:

Incidently, I like the PS2 controller best, but the wavebird is easily the best wireless ever (probably will be for a long time too).
