What do u think?
I was big fan of the original one and now after watching the 2 hour remake premire and the following eposides so far i cant say im dissapointed

yea they made Starbuck a female and changed some of the other characters but I dont mind.

I really like the new Cylon raider fighters. And how they use missiles and stuff now. The Vipers shoot some type hard ammuniton now instead of lasers.

The space battles seemed really neat too. I like how the vipers have to use smaller positioning boosters on the sides of their ships to make them turn which ever way, kind of like the ships in Babylon 5.

The first massave battle in the actual espisodes where the base stars attack the Galactica was pretty cool. I liked that one scene where the Galactica is just opening up with everything they have. Not to mention othse futuristic flack cannons they have.

So yea I like it overall and Ill probably get it DVD when/if it comes out.

I've never seen the original series or the remake they made in 1980, but I this version wasn't bad at all. I'm just suprised it was only a 2 part miniseries; it didn't complete the story, but maybe it is a prelude to a new series.

Yeah, I'm hoping there is going to be more than just two eppisodes. Those two set up a lot but really didn't settle much.

I could be wrong but I think that one guy was using the poseidon.co inc. Raisen as one of their guns. Interesting... thats probably an airsoft gun he's holding

I never really got into Battlestar Galactica. I would watch it on and off if there was nothing better on, but i prefer that show "V" more than anything. Also, i had a really, really stupid mental block with the Alphabet up until i was 12-13 (i ALWAYS missed out 4 letters in the alphabet), and the Sci-Fi channel advert for "V" taught me a new way of saying the alphabet (a different rythme to the one we were taught in school) and now i'm fine.
Believe it or not, i'm actually quite smart. I just have complete mental blocks with some things.

Anyway, if this remake has some decent CG space battles, i might tune in. I loved the Shadow Wars in babylon 5 (and the Dominion Wars in Deep Space Nine). Heh, i'm a sucker for special effects.

You're the only other person I've seen who noticed that. Not only was he packing a Raisen, but if you look closely, the armed infantry aboard the Galactica were packing MN-23s

very cool, but most of the weapons used seem to be the Sheena-riffic Poisidon models, i distinctly saw a seburo, raisen and a balsoon...

    I really liked it

the rifle used in the ammunition depot looked like a mn-23 to me.
but anyway, I did like this remake. I was trying to figure out which character was which (in relation to the old series; who is the new version of starbuck's black friend?). I thought starbucks acting was a liiiiiiiittle flat, but it was cool. Interesting move making starbuck a woman!

CG battles were pretty cool. I missed the first episode but the second was cool, especially with the suppression barrage. that was nice.

and the cylon woman is HAAAAAAAAAAAAAWT

Well, looks like I'll be the only one saying anything bad about this terrible excuse for a made for tv movie/tv show/whatever. I mean, come on people! Every one of their colonies is being nuked to oblivion and the caracters act like cardboard cutouts! Cylons looking like humans? Whats the point? hasn't that plot device been used by, like, ever friggen sci-fi show in the history of mankind!? And the gratuitous sex! Jesus the sex! Its not so bad when used sparingly, but when everybody and the mother is f***ing like rabbits whenever they get the chance its just a mindless attempt to pump up the ratings with the sexually frustrated teenager demographic! You know what the worst part was? Not only was it a bad movie, it reminded me of 2 other really bad movies: Wing Commander and Starship Troopers. And what the hell was with the baby killing scene? What was the point of that scene besides doing something really sick? To show us that the cylons are evil? 'Cause yeah, we really needed to emphasise that part of the plot ya' know. I've never seen the original Battlestar Galactica and yet I'm sure that this 'remake' does it no justice.

Anyway, its too late for me to be bothered with writing cohearent posts so I'm going to bed. Rant over.
