Hera Vent Hive Defense

A quick and dirty little thread: where do you build turrets (or ocs) in the vent hive in Hera? It seems to be difficult because if you defend one area you leave the other open. I suppose this may be more of a problem for the aliens because marines can shoot from either area. But still, if you don't build on the catwalk, you leave the RT undefended.

I disagree with turreting up hives because its pretty pointless considering how easy TFs are to kill if you're dedicated.

For OCs, I generally put them in the tunnels outside the main hive area, though they're rarely needed as on Lunixmonster the best defence is in the form of other aliens, rather than huge OC nests.

Besides, you can take a JP and get into vent hive very easily.

    For marines:

Even though it's not a very important location on the map, if you do want to secure vent hive, the most cost-effective way to do it is to put a PG behind the RT (in the corner) and then electrifying the RT.

    For aliens:

In my experience, 99% of the time, vent hive is sieged from processing. So, defend processing.

If you do want to defend the actual hive, the best thing to do would be not to close off all the entrances, since there are too many. Instead, defend what is arguably the most marine-unfriendly place on any map: Maintenance.
