How (?) To Use Web Properly

<div class="IPBDescription">catches rines, just like flies...</div> I am no specialist in web using, but here are some things I learned about this tool. Most of it is not news for veterans and some new players, but I saw web being misused so manny times that I had to write it, and I also ask for comments and contributions from you all. So:
* just because you have web it does not mean you have run to the nearest hive entrance and web it like Woody Woodpecker in that episode with the termites from Mars (remember, *you* are the alien here). And also think about the other gorges too, web is not like res, it is more like the evolution chamber order since you must take the team into consideration;
* to greater effect, you can use it near WoLs, in high marine traffic areas, in vents when there are lots of jpackers around, in marine start exits, and also when you see that lone vannilla marine, you can lay some webs where he is most likely to walk and spit him to death (without medspam he is toasted). Other than those is a risky bet;
* web is a good defensive tool but it shines when you purposedly to the frontlines and lay traps for marines so other kharra can kill them. Along with a lerk you can turn a corridor in a gas chamber. Just remember to never try to pull out the same trick right away or they will come back and grenade you to cs_italy;
* try to make the strands become invisible. Placed on the ground they will pass unnoticed 98% of the time. Or you can have both: put some at waist level in a doorway, then put some on the ground in front of the door. The marines will try to weld the visible strands and will be glued by the ones on the floor;
* don't let them breath! Put pressure on them! A strand will only slow them for 2 seconds, so if the marine stands still he will be free in that time and will shot you, but if you keep spitting him he may instinctivelly (?) try to break free by moving and get entangled in new strands for another 2 seconds and so on;
* if you get a kill by webbing a marine, don't hum on the mic the Spider Man's heme, it is rude. Use a wavefile <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Thanks for your attention and I am waiting for you feedback.

Definitely don't go berserk with it in dumb places though - bear in mind there's a web limit, which seems to keep getting smaller. I'd not advise webbing hives unless you've a clever OC nest or the rines are really closing in - otherwise just use them to slow the marines so they can be picked off.
Remember, webbed rine means no shooting, which means you can even deal with shotgunners.
The first shot of web determines the beginning point of the web, the second shot determines the end point and joins the two points together to form a strand of web. If you're creative, you can make webs in the most interesting places - like around a marine when he's sitting on top of the hive with a jetpack.
Webs set up instantly. That means if you are fleeing (or luring) marines around, throw a few webs on the walls as you run. (You don't even need to turn around - just shoot them on the walls) Doing so, you can controll how fast or slow the marines go. If they are lagging behind, ease up on the webs. Want to lose 'em? Minor webspam does the trick nicely.
Use webs to distract marines. For example, throw webs at the ground and a good player will slow down a bit and start to look for more webs on the floor - and will likely miss the skulk in the rafters above him. Or, he will get webbed again - and be skulkbait
Webs are a battlegorge's best friend. Right outside MS on ns_nothing, I got over 30 consecutive kills by using nothing more than web & healspray. Then I put all 100 of the res I had into building a huge healing station. Didn't take long for the endgame at that point. (Plus something like that lets you chucklespam & type "PH34R M3" guilt-free.)
Building on what Sarisel said, you can chain many webs together to completely cover a hallway, sort of like this top view of a hall (* is a web point, = the wall):
*====== *=======*=======*=======*=======*=======*=======*
===*=======*=======*=======*=======*=======*=======*====
A web will form between every place you put webs, in a zigzag pattern in my example.
Everyone sees the big obvious webs, the best are low or at least hard to spot. Although this can work the opposite - sometimes people walk away from webs because they expect an OC nest or ambush right after the webs.
So you web the left corridor, then camp in the right <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
