<div class="IPBDescription">Is HA really the only way?</div> As my freind and I were playing NS a few night ago it struck us that having to invest a good chunk of res and time into developing HA the <b>only</b> way to combat lerk gassing you seemed.... excessive. Prehaps there might be something to considering gas masks. Nothing like full MOPP suits or enviormental suits or wahtever that could equally be just as expensive to procure as HAs... However it not be un-reasonable to think that even some very basic defense against spores might be good. I.e. some sort of equipment like a welder or such, dropped after death but definetly requiring time/res to develop and research. It doesn't even need to completely protect marines you can probably conveice that the spore could affect the skin of a marine the gas maks could simply protect marines from inhaling the spores and suffering even more damage. Just thoughts, please discuss.

Gas masks have been discussed to death, the answer never.
Spores according to the book can destory armour to get to the marine inside.
Now for some strange reason this doesnt apply to HA. Yet it does for LA hence why your armour takes damage by spores.

But thats not to just counter lerk...
And they get way too much res as it is (marines).

2nd omg medpacks = 2 res and another thing if you get killed by spores when fights a lerk alone (w/o him spiking you) there is a serious need of the rine to do something not the development team

Gas Masks for combatting Spore Cloud (as of NS2.0, an exception has been made for those already integrated in Heavy Armor)
I love watching myself as lerk sit in a vent, and spore a location and the marines just stand in front of the vent waiting for me to pop my head out.. so I do, spore go hide and regen and they die by the boatloads..
I think it's funny one lerk in vent can attract the attention of 5 marines....
Allowing the rest of the aliens to drop hives, RT's etc..
