Nade Luncher Explode Upon Impact

half-life players know there's a mp5 that launches nade
and it explodes upon impact (not jus hitting the aliens but explode even when hit the floor or celing)

i was wondering if there is a reason for the delay on nade launcher

i wa thinking, explode upon impact would be much more convinent since the skulk and otherstuff would have less time to runaway and stuff..u know

    each weapon supposedly has a weakness in which other weapons excel in... Or else nade launcher would just be the ultimate weapon...

    The nade launcher is mainly an anti-structural support weapon. It is by no means ment to kill off everything in sight. Yes, it can clear out small cramped hallways of a number of skulks, its not completely ment for that. If you want to kill off skulks, give someone else the GL and use an lmg or something.

    Iirc.. the GL already fires on impact detonation grenades already... you just have to hit the alien or structure directly.

    Can't shoot around corners if it explodes on contact with walls?

    That would turn the Grenade launcher into a Rocket launcher with an arc... stoopid no!!!!!!

    GL grenades explode upon impact <b>of a alien player or building</b>. If they exploded like the MP5 grenade in HL, it'd be WAY too good of a weapon for marines to use as "assualt". remember: <b>NS's GL is used as SUPPORT, *NOT* ASSUALT!</b>

    Hand Grenades will not explode on contact at any time; if one hits a skulk, no boom. It'll just bounce off of him, but when the timer reaches 0, it detonates.

    I beg to differ, and I think anyone who's played with me will agree - The GL can be deadly and efficient in the right hands.

    What about a GL/JPer? Try fighting a guy who can do massive amounts of damage to your hive, and you can't keep up with. Far more deadly if you don't have any kind of web/OC protection.

    Granted, in 3.0, a lerk can take out a JP/GL easily, but the point should be valid regardless.

    Of course, you could always try standing still and lobbing a nade in the lerk's face.... and then getting healed up by medspam.

    my only gripe with the GL is the serverside firing, kinda makes it sluggish :\

    it would be much better if the firing is done client side, like bilebomb or acid rocket

    Ya, this is kind of wierd. The grenade looks like it comes straight out of the middle of the screen.
