    The next bit I think I did a good job on the marine and poor on the background, but the shading of the alien is massively horrid.

    Very nice, all of them (second one was a tad poor on the background, but marine was excellent), but you should darken them when you are finished. Or, Burn tool in Photoshop might help, I'm not sure.

    I use the HL model viewer. Cept on Nancy, I make her armor less complicated. For the life of me I can't recall anything from memory so I use lotsa references.

    On the third picture; I think it's the same marine from the second waiting for the Onos to finish him off. So he's smiling in the face of death. Which really just makes him look silly.
