    A sledgehammer? That's just sick.

    I talk about using a lawnmower with reference to it's use in a film scene that was so gory the actors were slipping on the blood and tripping on the dismembered limbs and U235 only thinks a sledgehammer is sick <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Melee -- I'd have to go with the dual hatchet setup... just for maximum kick-assedness.

    Ranged -- Call me old fashioned, but the bow and arrow/crossbow seem like more of something I'd consider using.

    If I had to pick a firearm, I'd have to go with a good ol' PSG-1. Call me crazy, but if I'm close enough to use a shotgun, something has gone horribly awry.

    Chainsaws and axes are way to hard to use on zombies, youd have to be very close, and very good at chopping. If you think its easy to sever a head from a moving body you got another thing coming.

    If I was forced to use a melee weapon I'd have to choose a pike, and a sharp shortsword. I'd stick em into place from a distance and hack away.

    Otherwise I'd use what I already own, an H&K USP 9mm and a Benelli M3 Convertible with 00 buckshot. (effective to 100m and to 150m with a chotube)

    Didn't they have one of those in Max Payne 2 as the Shotgun?

    I would have to go for the shotgun over any smaller arms, I'm sorry but unless your using military caliber ammo a tiny little bullet just isnt going to cause much damage to a mindless rotting zombie. At least with the shotgun, you can take off a limb right?

    As for melee weapon, I would say a Katana. They have a longer range then an Axe, and if your trained well enough in them they can deal out far far more damage. Plus they are light compared to a 2 handed axe, so if your facing more then 1 zombie you can pull a Kill Bill and just go all uber-ninja on them.

    I would likely just be working on building a rocket to launch myself to Mars though. /ph34rz z0/\/\b31z

    me?

    well the ranged weapon that comes to mind is the HK CAWS.. anybody heard of it? (fallout forever!! XD)

    unfortunately the project was stopped =\

    but.. revolutionary flechette or tungsten buckshot high-pressure shells designed by winchester/olin, shotgun itself designed by HK, with recoil compensation among other things. what a team.

    <img src='http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/hk_caws.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

    even though i have to assume that the only experience of anybody on this forum (including me) comes from counter-strike.. [vomit]

    the best shotgun team-up of all is definitely Benelli's <span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>XM1014 Joint Service Combat Shotgun </span>.

    also known as the Benelli M4 (followup to the m3 super 90), this beauty is:

    semi-automatic..
    has an extendable buttstock..
    and a tactical rail mount..
    sports 6+1 round capacity..
    has dual gas cylinders, pistons, etc for reliability..
    is perfect for shotshells OR slugs, beanbags... etc (special-purpose ammo)
    and is perfectly resilient vs. corrosion by natural conditions (rain, heat.. zombie blood)

    ahh, my love. #^_^#

    <img src='http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/benelli_m4_1.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>

    er..

    for special purposes i'd use

    -a tactical launcher like the HK69. it's small, retracting stock and everything, and the reliability you expect from HK.

    <img src='http://www.hkpro.com/image/hk69cover.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>
    for kicks: <a href='http://www.hkpro.com/video/HK69A1.mov' target='_blank'>HK69 in action =]</a>
    <img src='http://www.hkpro.com/image/hk69ammo.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>
    oh god... i'll take the one in the video- th-th-the incendiary, please! *_*!

    -a USP compact in .40 JHP
    it's got some kick because the barrel's short.. but recoil-reduction keeps you aligned well. besides, it's for when i'm reloading my Benelli and the zombies are closing in <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    -ohhhhh.. edit: melee. i forgot about melee... lemme see.

    anybody ever heard of a bang stick?

    it's a cylinder packing a shotgun shell. pressure applied at one end of the cylinder makes the shotgun shell go off, into whatever supplied the pressure.

    ie: a zombie's chest.

    basically, poke a zombie with a stick and the zombie's chest explodes out the back =]

    Alright, since im thinking it'll be a HUGE zombie attack, i'd only use the best.

    For <span style='color:green'>Long Range</span>, i'd use a M79 Grenade Launcher - Explosive and Incindiary grenades to cut down their numbers and deny movement.

    For <span style='color:yellow'><b>Medium Range</b></span>, it'd use:
    FN P90 Submachine Gun - 50 round magazine and enough power to peirce several layers of kevlar!

    Any assualt rifle - preferable underslung grenade launcher attachment.

    Dual 9mm Glocks - Fired in a series; one after the other.

    And for <span style='color:red'><b><u>Short Range</u></b></span>:
    SPAS-12 Shotgun - Just because. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    FN P90 SMG - Just because. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    MG-42 Belt feed - Just because ... It fires 1200-1300 RpM with a 710 m/s muzzle velocity <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> [with the ammunition being able to be belted into longer chains than 250. one long, continous, chain of hollow-point death.]

    Melee:
    Chainsaw - Just cuz', dude. Electric, so i don't need gas. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Katana - Limb-chopping goodness.

    Fists - Pray i never have to use these.

    Equipment:
    Lots and lots of ammo. Lets just say as much as I can carry, shall we?
    Backpack for holding the MG-42 belts, modified to feed the ammo into the gun by a belt
    Safety [Goggles] - Don't want to lose my vision to some dust or shell casing, do i?
    Leather heat-absorbant gloves - So i dont fry myself when the gun heats up, and to grip the melee weapons better.
    Kevlar vests, helmet, arm/leg padding - So i can atleast jump backwards off of something or get hit by a bullet that's bounced off of something and not get screwed.
    Sneakers with a steal toe - Just because i need to run when the going gets tough.
    [Gasmask - Just incase. can replace goggles]

    Note: I'd only choose one or two of the weapons to use at one time, so i couldn't have and carry them all.

    I'd go with a bow, machete, and shotty.

    Machetes can open most doors, and zombie bodies. Shotties are good and I know how to use one - a bow wouldn't be much of a killer but would be easier to make ammo for, unlike a shotty (which without ammo is little more than a big club).

    I dont think the m4 can cycle bean bag rounds, thats why they made the m3 convertible. (I just cheked the site, and confirmed that)

    I wanted the M4 sooooooo bad. I have the M3 and aside from the fact that its picky about its ammo (it likes the expensive stuff) its a fargen dream come true, I can break it down to its most basic parts, clean and lube it with no tools. Its a monster. I fired over 500 rounds through it without re-applying lubricant or cleaning it. We were in Palm Springs (it was like 106 that day) and it never locked up on me.

    But the M4s out in California start at $1400 and I just cant see myself having $3000 in shotguns (My m3 was 1500 after the pistol grip 2 mag extension light bracket and 3 in one taclight (laser flashlight, and inf red, which is totally useless cause I dont have NVG <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> )

    Plus they just came out with the <a href='http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/m4.tpl' target='_blank'>M1014</a> limited edition, they only made 2500 of them (drool)

    Well from the information gathered from the zombie film's made, they would be slow, hard to kill, not very dangerous unless they get close, so what I would do is this:

    1) Get a few friends of mine and find a high hill area
    2) Get 2 machine guns, probably m249's or M60's
    3) Get 2 high caliber sniper rifles such as M82 Barretts
    4) Collect a few CQB weapons for an emergency scenario, such as desert eagles, sawed off shotguns, micro uzis, anything high caliber and small
    5) Get lots and lots of ammo
    6) Sit on the hill and mow down the walking rotting flesh
