For the gearheads
Two friends, in a heated debate between imports and domestics decide to put their cars to the test......
After a debate about costs and power gains a long time ago, I told my bud that I could make my car faster than his. it's about a year and half later...
So... I'm just finishing up with my car:
'94 Civic EX
B18c
Custom Cam shafts
High performance cylinders
twin turbo (low RPM for spinup and a high boost for the high RPMs)
reworked bottom end
Racing ECU
Short shifter
hybrid tranny between integra special edition housing and the type-R gear ratios
Cutouts for open headers
VTEC Controller
And I'm currently trying to find a good NOS setup for the turbos...
All in all this setup cost me about $8k... about a years of saving for a poor college student like me.
I'm pulling over 300 horses at the wheels.
now my good friend since 2nd grade, Chris, has a 350 LS1 from a 'vette that he's been working on, right now the dyno is showing 625+ horses at teh wheels (exact is in my signature), and thats NATURALLY ASPIRATED!!!!!!! He's looking as a supercharger to put on once he's done with the bottom end - he tried to save some money by making it a 6 bolt instead of four bolt himself, and had his alignment off and cracked the block, so he's ordered a new one.
He's spend about $3500 so far on the engine, and that's after all the mods he's done to it so far
I spend that much on the engine WITHOUT modding it.
I'm pulling 12's now
I still say imports are better, why?
We're college students, we can't afford the insurance on two cars, so these are daily drivers
Chris' Camaro has about 10 MPG
My Civic is gettin' 25 MPG
In a year, He'll have spent as much on gas as I have on mods
