First i was wondering how you get vet status, i been playing since verson 1 when it first came out, i just never got really into it like i have now, or parcipating in fourms or communitys for it. So i was wondering how vet works, how i get in(i did sign up for that ati comp with others, witch will lead to another ?)

Are we going to test and help test 3.0 or do we test later verson, becouse i been wanting to play, and if i am ganna play it, why not help make it better, right?

2 options to help playtest 3.0,

1 get vet status by joining an active clan. There's a post about this but most active clans will be able to tell you all about it to. Active means VERY ACTIVE in competative play.

2 Pay $20 and join the consties - worth doing this anyway as it helps fund NS development. <a href='http://www.natural-selection.org/const.html' target='_blank'>http://www.natural-selection.org/const.html</a>

You get added as soon as [you apply and] the 2 playtest leads get around to it. Last I heard they were swamped. As soon as you get added you get access to 3.0 and a couple of new forums.

I tried for option 1.. but i went w/ option 2 because i <3 flayra .. but still looking for an active clan.

I've been temptated to "help" playtest 3.0 , but 2 things prevented me from doing so :

- paying for a beta version of a free mod. Sure , people who donated before got a well deserved reward , as it's not likely they sent money just to have a nice icon , but newer const members basically bought the beta. I might have donated to the Constellation program , but now I won't (at least not before 3.0 is out and radiating leetness) as the stars of generosity have been tainted with lowly interest.

- forming a 6 person team to have a chance of winning a graphic card does not qualify anyone to playtest the precious beta. My clan is pretty aged , and I don't want to play with the raging noobs that were reported to officially belong to the "Veteran" caste. The once respected medal is now a symbol of arrogance and selfishness.

But without people like you who seem to be at least, from that simple post, totally rational and thoughtfull people, who's going to balance out the "arrogance and selfishness". Vets, from my perspective, have always been lacking a degree of maturity. I wish you'd reconsider.

Frikk you are like the anti-vet vet... thats so awesome. Yeah Stak vet doesnt mean what it used to and the ones that used to have it many consider to act elitist towards other. However not all vets are like this as frikk here has shown, don't stereotype the many because of a few. Donate to the game and become a consti, I dont see how a couple other people sending in money just to playtest ruins the whole idea. Any consti member regardless of their reasons for donating still donated and we should thank all of them for that, not just the ones who did it before it was fashionable. And lastly the reason he opened up the beta this time was to get a wider playerbase, but still somewhat manageable. If the only reason you wont donate is because of the association with people who did it for the wrong reasons or not try for vet because it's prestige is gone, then you were doing it for the wrong reason in the first place.

More active clans is a good thing for ns, so what if a bunch of them are noobs, this makes it possible for more new teams to come in and play teams that may be on an equal skill level and it increases the playerbase. I see these as good things not bad. Not to mention more people donating to keep this game free for the rest of us is a very good thing.
