Seriously, though. It's a good, solid layout. Work on improving the visuals, and this could be a great map:
-Generally, add lights. If you can't tell the gun apart from the bakcground in a screenshot, it's too dark. If you want the area to seem dark, use spot lights carefully. You want bright patches of light on the floor with dark spaces between them.
-Avoid the square shape whenever possible. Use hexagons or octagons for your corridors. Bevel corners. Add pipes.
-Make every single room or section of hallway in your map unique. Use different room sizes, different textures, detail machines and furnature, and different lighting. Players should be able to tell exactly where they are in a map by looking at a screenshot.
-Windows should be thinner than the window frame. Avoid the halflife.wad glass. Instead, use NS.wad glass, and resize it to fit the window pane.
-Put glowing rays of light or halos on lights in otherwise dark rooms. You don't see these in a fully-lit room in real life! Only in a dark room with dust or moisture in the air!
-Lava should always emit light. The walls along the edges of the lava pit should have an orange glow coming off of the lava. Go into lights.rad and make the lava have an orange color. Adjust the brightness to fit the map, and take into account your compile settings, but start with something like 245 130 0 3000 and work from there.
-Cut your rock hallways into triangles and use vertex manipulation. There is no other way to make rock walls look natural.
If NSA doesn't give a damn what the map looks like, and they just want to simulate NS:Combat to train their players in gunning down enemy troops, more power to ya. But if you want to actually improve this map, here are my suggestions. Peace.
Additional suggestions:
- Make the lava coming out of the pipes at least be fullbright. Maybe make it cast light, too.
- Give it a different skybox. The Black Mesa sky looks ridiculous.
- Re-design the layout so the gameplay isn't booring and lame.

Also, can you either host your pictures on NSA or just post less. There's far too many and none of them are anything exciting or eyecatching. One picture of one of the plain box rooms would be enough to illustrate the map, considering that there only is plain box rooms.
How about renaming this map ns_boxRC3Beta4OMGRELEASE8 or something. It'd be far more fitting. Now, there's all my comments before loading the map (I'm waiting for my map to compile, it has detail so takes longer than 2 minutes.....).
Ok, i'm back from playing it. I was going to make a whole list of points, but i'll be pretty blunt about this.
This map is crap. The architecture is minimal, far too large, plain, boring and badly textured. The layout is extremely bad, it's entirely marine biased, there is no balance here whatsoever. Far too many res nodes, hives too close together and the mesh on the sky.........
If i were working for the NSArmslab i would revoke my name from the map, this is poor, plain and simple and is an insult to NSArmslab.
Other little nitpicking. I know this is an NSA exclusive, but the site is not user friendly and vastly irritating, just post a direct download next time to save anyone the hassle of downloading this.

ask yourself whats the point of the map. personally...
follow my advise:
1. add details
2. add more details
3. add more details till you reach a average detaillevel
4. make the areas closer
5. create more routes
6. add more detail
7. what are you waitng for? much work to do!
I cant make friends with this co_maps ...
Too much detail. Simplify it and cut the textures down and you're onto a winner. Maybe NSArmslab will make it official too!
the download at nsa is **** up, but the sky box that is used fits the map
thanks for your ideas, they will be put into action in rc3, rc2, has had some big changes from the screens in this post

dont worry about it its one of those kinda fun maps but it doesnt lag and its tons of fun by far the best funmap ever made!

I won't even bring up the "funk_" issue.
Anyway, if you feel i was harsh, i don't much care. I was being honest, ok?
Maybe i didn't offer too much constructive criticism, but in my opinion, the map needs entirely scrapping and starting over from scratch.
And by the way, i find NS and NS:C to be fun as they are, i don't need unbalanced maps to let me have some "fun". If someone made a funmap that looked nice and had something original, i'd possibly play it, but that's never happened so far and this map is absolutely no exception.
Since this is a "fun" map, what's its gimmick? Y'know, like ns_siege has the siege room, ns_stargate has the stargate, what has this got to seperate it from the other "fun" maps? As far as i can see, this just has too many res nodes and a poor layout. I suppose the "fun" part is supposed to be the fact that you can go any evolution you want or get the best equipment, but guess what, play NS and actually become good at it and both of these things are easy to get!
Also, i won't mention the fact that "Golden Gate" is spelt wrong on both this thread and the actual filename of the map. This poor level of professionalism does nothing to help the case that this is a poor map.
So feel free to flame me all you wish, i don't particulaly care, i'm not going to lie to someone just because apparently i sound "pompous".

Ever played ns_commandmissile? The gimick was that marines were at the top of a missile silo and had to climb down. It was the first and probably only funmap to even come close to doing the sci-fi theme justice. Dunno if it was really "fun" or not, though.

I'm not so sure mate, my behaviour gets pretty pitiful at times.
Also Amckern, you have good ideas. There is something I'm taught in school, "Quality not Quantity". It goes for mapping aswell, I'm seeing more maps out of you than anyone else, yet they lack the NS feel. I suggest you take time to observer other peoples designs, create your own unique style, tweak lighting and get the NS atmopshere inside your maps. It takes months yes, but at such a cost it is like finishing a good piece of artwork. Renoir anyone?

yes. right. but which decent mapper doesnt know this? some people started mapping in the early ns daysand arent finished one map yet ^^
