Ns_hera Glass Tunnel

The only thing I have not figured out is in ns_hera the aliens if they use acid rocket can shoot right through the glass tunnel if tilted at the proper angle. This is very effective and if the aliens take that hall they can kill you, destroy your base and if this is the last base you have left they have made it so you can not hurt them. I am assuming this must have been a glitch but still no matter how many times I play someone always does it and I have even found myself using it on them when the time for payback rolled around. Any suggestions on sure fire defense against this? I hope this was fixed in ns3.0. That game's gonna be the best!

    I consider it a map exploit and would prefer administrative punishment.

    Yeah, I have to agree on that one.
    Seeing as you can't shoot through glass IRL, it shouldn't be allowed ingame either.

    the realy dumb part of that is it is ez to land on the glass tube as fade. so blink through the base to go and kill the rt. when they come to save it hide behind the glass. at the very lest you keep many of the marines in base trying to defend the rt.

    A pack of mines behind the rt makes short work of fades trying to harass the marine start rt.

    You defend against aimbot by making yourself invisible, of course, using another hack. Or you can just turn godmode on.

    Unfortunately, thats not the only place on maps where Fades can AR through. It's practically the only way to counter the "drop a pg in docking" exploit on lost, err I think its ns_lost. Anyway, marines do that, and the only way to kill them in there is to AR through the wall.

    I think he means that if you shot a bag of crap that explodes onto HARD glass, it wouldn't leak through. Plus there is ONLY ONE type of acid (I forget it's name) that can burn glass.

    I would say GL is the only viable counter, but most comms are reluctant to throw those down, because you don't often find people who have the skill to use them (YES there is skill to it, and lots of it, which makes me wonder at all the 'no skill in NS' posts)

    Surefire defense against fades exploiting with acidrocket:

    Don't let them get 3 hives.

    If you do let them get 3 hives, you've lost anyway, and the exploits will only quicken the inevitable.

    the GL is a skillless weapon for what its ment for, taking out strutures.. I mean, its not like they can really move out of the way.. but offensivly it takes much skill.
    and Spectre is right, you shouldn't let them get three hives.. plain and simple.

    thing is that they can shoot thru but u can too. so blast da *** with sum hmgs/pistols (note that nades DONT go thru but thats bout da only thing that doesnt).

    Like wang said - If they can shoot you then you can shoot them too. Aim for the parts that are sticking through and fire away! And beleive me, glass tunnel isnt the only place you can do this.
