Worst of all, IMHO, is when a gorge DOES ask, via mic and text, which chamber... and nobody responds cuz they're too busy doing whatever (like sitting on Res for onos like a Dumb***). So I plop down whatever I feel like doing- usually DC, but not always. Anybody kvetches after that, screw 'em.

I find it much more fun to play sens first every now and then than just DC all the time. Sure we will likely lose but is it really that awful?

Is it that fun has nothing to do with playing to you people or can you only have fun when you win? Many or most seem to care about nothing else than victory and the easier your victory is the better.

I must have some mental problem as I see nothing geat/fun in victory that doesn't need to be achieved or in repeating the most powerful tactic again and again and again and again and again and... (just like in 1.04) to achieve victory which has already been achieved thousand times with that strategy. I find it more fun to try something different than repeating and repeating for all eternity... or atleast until new version comes out and its time to form new ultimate strategy which is then repeated for the next few months.

Yes i know i must be mad to come up with something as stupid as fun>victory so ill just go find a psychiatrist now.

I'm really starting to get tired of people who assume that people are mad at someone who just drops sensory without asking, because they suck with sensory or, boo hoo, can't adapt. Most people get **** off because some loser just dropped whatever he wanted, without asking the team, because he wanted to have cloaking, or whatever. This is not a "HEY I DON'T WANT TO DIE AS GORGE SO LETS DROP SC FOR ME!" game, it's a team game. Perhaps one of, if not THE, most team oriented Half-Life mod. People need to get this, "I'm the only person on the team" state of mind crap out of their heads, 'cause nobody will ever want to play with you.

i find sensory can be effective for the team if the team uses it correctly and effectively, just not many do so they abuse the crap outa the gorge who built it,, annoys me they do that, they dont even bother to try and keep playing after the sens is built they run around like stupid fools and not bother to do anything to win the game or even try to win. Thats what really annoys me, how petty some players act just cus someone put up something they cant adapt to.

In my opinion, sensory isn't just a good first chamber, it's the best. However, you need a gorge that's brave enough to place one first, and a team that doesn't just sit there the whole match moaning about how a n00b gorg messed the match up for them.

I look at it like this: I can either take about 5 more bullets (i'm usually a skulk, so Cara all the way) from a weapon that shoots like, 10 rounds a second or w/e, or i can be completely invisible. A good cloaker can decimate a squad of 4 marines. A good Carapace skulk can take 3 of them max (if the marines can actually aim). So i prefer sensory. but i agree that DC has to come by second hive at least, because it's impossible to get marines out of a turret farm without it.

4 marines without any arms, are looking at the wrong side of their monitor, and are busy listening to System of a Down blasting away at 170 Dbs, perhaps.

Honestly, don't just make up **** and throw it as proof:

    1) A cloaker running or walking while cloaked is incredibly visible. You wouldn't believe how many times I see one beelining for me and I blow him away. Use your flashlight and they show up plain as day.

    2) Once they start attacking, the gig is up. If those 4 marines can't aim and shoot a target 2 feet away from them, those are some ****-terrible marines, and rather poor for comparison.

Furthermore, everything everyone in support of sensory says they like it SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE IT BENEFITS SKULKS. Do I have to explain how shortsighted that is? Sure sensory is good if you can finish the game BEFORE midgame, but if marines stop you and the game advances to midgame, you're stuck with sensory, and either fades or onos are going to be totally gimped in one regard or the other: They're either going to be fast and drop like flies, or be slow and take more damage, both of which doesn't lend itself to a preferrable option of them being effective killers.

Before everyone goes for each other's throats do you have proof, X_Stickman? A screenshot, a demo, something to back up your argument?

I like taking a few extra shots, but I also like the marine not getting any bullets on me because I just dropped down behind him from the ceiling, and he's dead before he realizes what's going on.

You know, what's wrong with spending a few seconds asking?

Truthfully I do it, I don't mind if they pic a chamber I don't like. I am not going to ruin the rest of the teams "fun" because one thing didn't go the way I wanted to, I'm sorry but the majority overules. I tend to think the aliens as all equal, and everybody should get at least some say into things (even though it's bound not to happen), thinking for yourself and only for yourself is bound to ruin some serious gamer's time. Unlike the Marines, you follow what one guy says 100% of the time.

Like the name of the game, I adapt, I find a way to grab what ever fun I can get out the situation, no matter how lame or pathetic it is.

That is a great attitude to have - we share that. Plus, SC will OWN as a first chamber in 3.0 =)

I agree. These people don't take into consideration that somebody else might at least want to say something about what chamber gets dropped. Some people don't understand that at least part of the time, when they make a suggestion for SC first, their team WILL AGREE. It's just not going to happen every game you play. If you want SC first every game you play, suggest it. Eventually one of the games you play people won't mind, or actually want to have sc first.

I'm really interested to see how Focus turns out in 3.0, because there might be some ups and downs to it. First off, it will make vanilla marines go down in one bite, if I'm not mistaken. Level 1 armor marines will most likely be, like skulks without focus, and marines without any armor. But, once they get more armor, it might be quicker to kill them without focus, for lets say armor 3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but focus will lower the attack speed of the affected attack. So technically it might be quicker to kill them without Focus, once they get more armor. Eh, only time will tell, I for one can't wait to see how the new ability plays out.

From what I've heard, focus increases damage by 1/2, and slows the RoF by 25% - so taking anything down will be faster with focus (more damage per second).

Focus kills a vanilla marine in a single hit, and thus early on, if you can get a single SC near marine start, that can go a LONG way to stopping marine expansion about the map, effectively hamstringing your opponents.

Focus actually has been nerfed so that it kill slower.

It deals 100% more damage, but attacks 5/8's as fast.

However, it's still really good because you can't medspam to stay alive. Two focus bites ALWAYS kill a marine if he doesn't get medspam, and if the marine does get medspam, once the marine is low on armor no amount of medspam will save him.

Focus makes it so you can't do the age old tatic of constantly med spamming your marines to keep them alive, if the marines aren't perfect shots they WILL get owned...

I could always GL you, which I'm working on to scare away all skulkehs. It works really well on large groups of skulks, as in more than 3. Unfortunately, it is costly, and most comms don't want to lose it to me and my pyrotechnics.

Lol, 3.0 is going to be really fun. Looks like Focus will take a little more patience and skill to be used right, with the lower attack speed, it won't be wise to just run in chomping. Gonna have to wait until they will count. **** I want to play 3.0! Maybe focus will break the DMS state of mind.
