<div class="IPBDescription">Time to upgrade?</div>Um.. there isn't any chance of having the board upgraded to v3.1.1?

I know MonseuirEvil said a short while ago that an upgrade was being performed on the software, but I notice the version number down the bottom still says:

Powered by Ikonboard 3.0.1 © 2001 Ikonboard

The new ikonboard has new features and I'm told it's faster.

Just a thought.

    The upgrade path is actually quite nasty, as IB's upgrade methodology is rather flawed. Basically, I have to export all the data, delete the forums, install 3.1.1, recreate all the forum settings and configuration from scratch, then import all the data. It will mean a long outage that we cannot afford right at this stage. It's been postponed until after the mod's release.

    Well.. since i bought my very own Linux box... my site can run Invisionboard because my computer has a firewall and i can't run MySQL on it... so if you can run MySQL Database... you can have invisionboard (you can convert your ikonboard to invision board so that user names and setting do not get deleted) Its really cool WAY MORE OPTIONS THAN ANY BOARD OUT THERE... i tell you  <!--emo&:asrifle:--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/asrifle.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':asrifle:'><!--endemo-->  <!--emo&:tiny:--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tiny.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':tiny:'><!--endemo-->  DIE!!!

    Rough it. Just before I export the database, the board will be turned off. It will not be turned back on until the data is back in and all the configuration rebuilds have been made. At least a day's work, if there are no issues.

    I'm sure it will cut down on the amount of spam. DoD did the right thing by having a "forum outage" the day they released 2.0... makes tons more sense that way. You miss some of the "NS is teh funn!!!!" posts, but you miss even more of the "NS suxorz! You wasted 2 yrs of my life! Where's my sniper rifle? (AWP)" (lol DOOManiac).

    What's wrong with these boards exactly? Is the upgrade to the latest version free?
