<div class="IPBDescription">I just beat it...and I don't understand</div> Ok, so I just went through and beat Max Payne 1. I just barely found the CD for it that my friend gave me and it is playable only on my new computer so I couldn't play it a while back.
Ok, so going over the story...
Max's wife is killed by V-head junkies, along with the baby. Max transfers to the D.E.A. to work with Alec Balder and B.B. He works himself into the criminal underworld, trying to find the source of Valkyr. Fast forward to the Roscoe Street station. A bunch of people are breaking into the bank, to steal Aesir Corp stock stuff. Then Max goes to kill Jack Lupino, gets confronted by the Finito brothers, then he kills Rico Muerte and then at the Ragnarock club he kills Jack Lupino, meets Mona Sax, she betrays him slightly and he hallucinates. He gets free from the chair that he was tied to, after a confusing hallucination scene, and then he kills "Baseball Bat" thug person. From there he goes to kill Pucinello, getting lots of help from Vladimir Lem. He kills Boris Dime, stocks up on lots of weaponry, goes to the Pucinello restaurant, then goes to the Pucinello Manor, kills the Trio, then watches The Don get shot up by men in suits with Colt Commando's, then Max gets OD'ed on V. You see another crazy hallucination, then Max goes to the Cold Steel place, we find out about V, then he goes to the Asgard place, we find out about Nicole Horne, and then Max goes forth, kills Nicole Horne all the while with Alfred Woden's assurances that the charges would be dropped.
Ok, so do the V-junkies kill Michelle or did Max do it?
I'm confuserated.

I just thought that scene where max was high on V was just him trippin' out - but I could be wrong.
Now go play MP2.
Max has a vengence thing happening and joins the D.E.A. He than gets framed for murder and has to find out the answers to clear his name and get revenge on the ppl who had his wife killed!
max is mad
max has gun
violence follows
(it was the v-heads that killed max's family, and it was part of a test of the drug supposed to make you faster stronger stuff, made you crazy though)
The whole 'I killed my wife' deal is just the Max Pyane - typical melodramatic way of showing that Max blames himself for not being there to defend his family.

you forgot:
hilarity ensues
Otherwise
Nem0s thing + Majins stuff == teh correct. I really love MP. I played it 3 times through or something. Call me mad.
Actually, they were death a few days before the start of the game, those V-heads were just burglars.
It's mentioned in Max Payne 2 and while I'm confident I could
browse the "Story-board" from my completed Max Payne 2 Save-Game
and take a screenshot... that would undoubtly ruin a key element for
someone currently playing Max Payne 2.
