<div class="IPBDescription">(.wad preview, that is)</div> In the past week or two i've been texturing, for the hell of it. I've managed to make it loosely tied in with the uni work i should be doing so i can dedicate some time to doing it instead of catching up on uni work i should be doing. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Anyway, i've been knocking together a number of textures, only one of which i'm including in co_dawn and i figured i should make an entire pack of textures rather than letting them go to waste.

So here's a preview pic of some of them. I only knocked the room up really quickly so the architecture isn't really very nice, and the lighting is only one light entity, so i believe they should look a lot nicer with proper lighting.

Enough trying to make excuses for the slightly dodgy texturing, and here's a pic.

    Like I said on IRC, that looks good. Mmmh...pink glass.

    Imo it is too clean, especially for ns, it's too perfect to look real.

    Lol, it's not pink glass. It's transparent, the pink is from the skybox i'm using (co_dawn's <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->).

    And the proof....

    Really nice. But just as tseepra said, maybe a bit too clean.
    We need more custom NS-wads! <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I know NS is supposed to be dirty, but to be honest, i prefer clean textures, there's not enough of them, and the proof of this is that there's not a single clean looking NS map. I'd love to have a map that's closer to something like SS2 (Well, maybe not that simple), very clean lab type textures. This gives me an idea, i may do that.

    Well, i'm still working on the wad so i may throw in some dirtier textures, but i find it very hard to make dirty textures that i actually like. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Clean textures are hard to pull off. Dirty textures look better because they have more things for the eye to look at, so focus on adding more detail, also remember in any clean texture set there should be some scratches and nicks. Real walls, floors etc. have flaws, make sure you aren't forgetting to add these little touches.

    IMO, that glass texture alone is worthy of downloading. Not enough good glass textures, IMO.

    i agree with uffo on that one...comes from the bland aspect of clean textures but still...i like them <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    part of that also is probably the lighting/architecture. It's really hard to see a screenshot and focus solely on the textures without your opinions on the brushwork/lighting coming in.

    That said I like the stuff you have. I agree that there aren't enough clean textures out there. I also think you should do a pink window, if you do i'll find a place to use it in a map, guaranteed. (it would be kind of nice for a bio-lab type area)
