Well, i dunno shick nitz about mapping... However I assume you can make a switch that is unreachable by any player and make the switch in a crevice inside the wall near the door/elevator/what-have-you that the marine Commander can access, but no one else can.
you could have a door or lift or whatever, then the switch OUTSIDE the player's playable area... the only way the player could get to it is if they had noclip on. only prob is if the null texture or whatever was over it and obscured the comm's veiw of it(not to mention you would HAVE to have a nobuild block over it to stop the comm from building on the switch.) as for commander openable only switches that are in valid player space, well... i think not. <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->
I wanted to have the switch visably broken, so that the commander has to "hack" into the door to open it. Guess thats not possible <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

It's perfectly possible... just create a dummy switch that looks like a broken switch, but does nothing. Edit: a great place to put the switch so a marine can't reach it and the commander doesn't run into it: *under* the map.
