Help Creating Non-dedicated Internet Servers

hey people, ive been trying to set up a little non-dedicated server with a few of my friends, but we're having a problem: when anyone tries to join the server, it doenst let them join, saying that its a lan server or something of the sort. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it? thanks.

In listenserver.cfg, change "sv_lan 1" to "sv_lan 0".

Or, typing that in the console should work also.
