(it also came with a computar macheen)
yes, I got my new computer I've been ranting about in several threads (see this). I'd be psyched, but... I can't figure out where to plug in my monitor... that's right, folks -- I don't know where to plug in my monitor. the monitor cable is a male connector. the place on the computar that looks most like a monitor-pluggy-in-place is also a male connector. do I need a male/female adapter, a new monitor, or am I overlooking something obvious and stupid? monitors plug into the motherboard, not the video card, right? or do they plug into something entirely different -- did I forget to purchase something I needed? I am a nub, but I would think I'd have heard of something I needed to plug my monitor into...

Mine plugs into the video card, as I'm fairly sure that most others do.

lol, I figured it out. it doesn't go directly into the video card, but rather, I need to attach some crazy wirey doodad to the video card and connect the monitor, in turn, to that. I was like, "OMJ, 8 USB2 ports, and no monitor porty thing?!?!"

signing off to see if the sucker fires up.
