Known bug with Steam and NS, There is no fix, wait for 3.0
There are 2 active threads on the front page I believe (both with the last poster of Thansal b/c I post the answer then no one has the common freikn manners to thank people).
While I understand "Known bug with Steam and NS, There is no fix, wait for 3.0," I'd really really be nice if we had a workaround for this between now and whenever 3.0 comes out. I for one can't really wait till 3.0 comes out to get some NS on so I'm stuck having to remember to exit steam each time a round is done to keep my machine from locking up hard.
Any chance of an interm solution?
we don't know of any work around
Alot of people have this (I never faced it I admit), and all of them have poked to some extent and there seems to be no work around for now.
My suggestion is to use WON untill 3.0 comes out (Still pleanty of won servers up <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)
Also if you havn't installed the steam beta (found in the open beta forum) try that.
I mean if it's just happening on nvidia drivers older than x.x (I'm using the latest) then I'd go back to an older version but with nothing to go on I'm kinda guessing in the dark as to what to change.
Is it possible to know or get some(any) details on what fixed this and/or what causes it?
Sorry, I don't have any further details <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
