Lmg/la Vs Skulks

<div class="IPBDescription">some tips</div> i'm about an average rine, but i notice the same mistakes over and over when watching LA getting wasted by skulks. here are some tips to nail those nasty buggers
POSITION
-get to NICE OPEN areas, or LONG hallways, do NOT stay in cramped spaces, you will die (i.e. power subjunction in ns_eclipse, upper processing RT in ns_hera )
-crouching CAN help, as you are on the same y axis as the skulk, there is less up and down aiming
-always check overhangs and blindspots as you enter a room, a skulk is almost always there <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
SQUAD TACTICS
-try and fire offset from your rine counterparts. especially if the skulks are coming waves. this is to ensure that you are not ALL reloading at the SAME times. this is trebly important when in a ha/hmg/gl train
-try not to bunch up, and if you find yourself in a bunch, immediately try and get away from your fellow rines. one skulk could eat you all while you fire into each others backs
-if you are bunched up and suddenly encounter hostiles, CROUCH if you are in the front. let yer teammates behind you get a whack at them aliens <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
CLOSE COMBAT
-get your fast weapon switch on. when you run out of lmg fire, just spray and pray with the pistol, it packs a wallop, and USUALLY the skulk is almost dead by the time your lmg clip is dry. (some ppl like going pistol, then switching to lmg when the skulk is closer)
-if you are unlucky to be within bite range of a skulk, jump around madly and randomly. some rines find it helpful to jump and run TOWARDS the skulk, as they won't expect it, and some skulks like to be leet and time their bites (i.e. won't be chomping too early). as always, the "jump to the side and let the skulk fly past you" is always a nice technique.

I might add one more thing. Even though there is no effect on recoil or any of that, burst your fire, don't hold it down when you are tracking a skulk, that is how you run out of ammo and get eaten by the next skulk in the line. Plus by bursting you are keeping some rounds in the gun for when your teamates are reloading.
A favorite tactic of mine is to wait til I hear the reload and drop down from my perch to munch on marine heads.
