    You completely fail to mention anything about WHICH sound card you have.

    Have you updated graphics card drivers? Which version?
    Have you updated sound card drivers? Which version?
    Have you updated Via 4-in-1 motherboard drivers? Which version?
    Have you updated DirectX? Which version?
    Have you experienced this problem in other games? Which games, if any?
    Have you installed the latest Windows Update patches?
