<div class="IPBDescription">what da heck is dis???</div> I'm not actually a 'new' player, but I don't know where else to post this, so... <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

anyway, you know in 'MULTIPLAYER ---> CUSTOMIZE ---> ADVANCED OPTIONS' there's this checkbox that says 'Force 90 Degrees POV'? what does it do, if anything at all?

I always thought it would follow the skulk's wallclimbing view, as in AvP2, but nothing of the sort's ever worked...

so then?

    FOV = field of view

    aliens have different FOVs.

    right, it was <b>F</b>OV, not <b>P</b>OV... <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo-->

    anyway, I wasn't asking what the letters meant!

    I want to know <i>exactly</i> what effect it has 'in game', if any!...

    I don't play NS very much right now, but the aliens were supposed to have different FOVs. I don't know if they actually do. If they don't, that chechbox has no effect. If they do, it will make them have the same FOV.

    Skulks, for example, have a widened FOV. Try to pay attention to what you see while evolving and it should be obvious.

    In 2.1.... errr, 3.0 now, the FOV change is obvious, because as you morph between different forms, the FOV will change gradulally. It's a rather neat effect, although odd for the fade, because the fade crouches when he evolves, meaning you get a bit of a jerk from crouching to standing at the end of the evolution.

    it looks like the egg is walking across the floor when you evolve as a fade. skulks have got a wide (100 degree?) FOV and gorges are different again. Its interesting playing.
