I know this isn't a realism mod - I just wondered if you fire more accurately if crouched? Amso used to Dod that I can't help myself sometimes!

    Nope. Position/stance doens't affect accuracy.

    Nope, that doesn't help you in NS. Is does make you a smaller target though, and besides, the guns in NS are almost 100% accurate anyways (i.e. no recoil like other HL mods).

    There are no location specific damage either.

    In fact, fades can't even be hit in the head, aim for legs and stomach. Onos is even screwier. It is bigger than it's 'bounding box'(player hull) which provides it's collision with walls, anything outside this volume cannot be hit or collide with walls, aim roughly for center of mass. Shooting straight at it's head from the front works because you hit the player hull in the middle but it does not work from the side.

    The other aliens and the marines have descent hit boxes.

    Although they'll be fixed when the next version is released.

    For some reason, I find it easier to kill skulks when I'm crouched, unless they're up close and chomping at me of course. They seem to die much faster. :/

    Thanks for educating me. It would be nice to have to have correct hitboxes.
    Have seen other threads asking about specific location damage modifers > helps peeps keep their eye for other mods/games but working hit boxes is a good start.

    I agree with Pest... not sure why though... Might just be because I'm not moving so can aim better... and maybe the skulk gets overconfident and just rushes you ::shrugs::

    The reason crouching while shooting at skulks makes it easier to kill them is because you don't have to track them vertically, as you are on the same level as them. Instead you only have to move left and right.

    Plus if you see one chompin on your RT, crouch down pull out the pistol and take pot shots at him, only 4 or 5 round to kill a skulk with a pistol, and that is one of the best ways to take him out at a distance without having to get into his favorite location (up close and personal).

    At least that is what I do, and it seems to work! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    I'm starting to pick up on these sort of tricks, I like to save the lmg so I can switch back to it quickly if the skulk or its friends realise I'm gunning for them. Anyone ever find themselves going "Doh" when you go to pull the pistol out and realise the Comm dropped you a welder!

    I don't <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    then again thats cus in the next build welder and mines are both placed into slot 4 <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Yes, hitboxes are fixed (its scary now, Onos have to be carful, a well organized team can quickly take one down <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)

    Also, ducking when in a squad helps the REST of your squad b/c they can then fire over your head (instead of into your back)
