Ok in this shot my oc fortification in upper sewer is getting wasted by HA's.
It was fun to watch light armor marines get wasted by 7 oc's at the same time tho <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Probably refinery on bast, on top, next to the hive (the little thing that goes in on top of the melting lava)
    Or, same map, N-corridor.

that would be the zerg drone, available somewhere in the customization forum somewhere, along with, if I'm not mistaken, a fade hydralisk, an onos ultralisk, and possibly a lerk mutalisk. Only I barely ever went there since 1.0x's days. So I'm not sure about those.

My favourite deathtrap as a skulk would be in mineshaft. It's in the tunnel linking the cave near refinery (double res) to sleeping quarters. There's this veeeeeerry dark nitch in the tunnel where you can hang around as a skulk, fully hidden from marines. Also, you can see the marines entering the ladder to U-turn so it's pretty handy for parasiting them. It's not an absolute deathtrap, but it's my favourite ambush place!

Hehe, best deathtrap on ns_stargate_xt9 is to build BEHIND the stargate on the alien side, especially as marines. Aliens run towards stargate, and get chewed up by a tfarm that you can't see throught the white graphic of the stargate. They have to go around the stargate thus being exposed to fire even longer

One of the best skulk deathtraps is in Hera. Inbetween the glass tube and reception, there is a room with a ramp. Face directly away from reception. At the bottom of the ramp, to the left there is a nitch. Skulks can hide there without being seen. With even a vanilla skulk, you can kill three, maybe four marines before they figure out you are there. With silence and cloaking, you can get dozens of res.

I'd try to link a screenie, but the images I take are 4.2 MB - a tad large to put on the site. If anyone knows how I could link a shot up, i'll provide a view of the spot.

I think the best relocation I ever had was a failed one. Start the game on... shoot, bast? (with Sat comm, waste handling, and fusion reactor). Anyway some punk jumps in the comm chair and relocates.... across the room. I'm not joking. Places comm chair and TF next to the Marine start node. After we ejected him someone on the team said that we needed to relocate to the "Bat Cave" (vent by Waste Handling on the outer part of the map) since we were screwed anyway. The best part was that the entire team went along with it. We sent 3 waves of the entire team over there before we ran into onos and that was the end. We probably would have made it too cept the aliens started at Waste handling and we had problems jumping up on top of one another to get into the vent to the "Bat Cave."

    <i>(I'v changed the pic size.)</i>

I remember a really fun relocate back in the early 1.04 days (or before that?). I wasn't on the team that relocated, which probably made it a lot funnier. The aliens, the team I was on, had just destroyed the marine base on ns_nothing and was wondering where the last marine could be hiding, when our Viaduct hive suddenly goes down. When we got there the marines have built a base (in our base!) on the actual viaduct. What made me laugh (in real life) while playing was that the marines jumped down from the viaduct when we shot spores at them. If you watch closely on the following picture you will see marines jumping.

    <img src='http://www.halflife.nu/namron/4x.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image'>
    <b><i><a href='http://www.halflife.nu/namron/' target='_blank'>More pictures...</a></b></i>

I guess this isn't as funny as it was back then. This is quite common nowadays, but to me it brings up sweet memories.

"N" Corridor on bast. Will elaborate further later (!)

On one of the last games on 1.04 we forced the marines to relocate 4 times on tanith. Just last week my marine team had to relocate 4 times as well. We lost of course.

ROFL I'm quite happy that people know about "N" Corridor

I'd really like to know what went on in their games..

It's not really a deathtrap, it's quite defendable. The hard part is, of course, fighting your way out, and, fighting boredom during the long stalemate if you pull off the reloc. But the atmosphere! The claustrophobia, the desperate situation, feels ready for a movie, yes sir!

Once we relocated to that little tiny room near power silo (near ominous kismet), After techning up to jetpacks all on RFK, a sole marine made it into Power silo. He rebuilt our entire base INSIDE Powersilo on the top, we had 8 lmg'ers take it down with 7 oni jumping up and down in anger. Eventually we lost to spore spam and a fade, but it lasted 80 minutes <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
