can this be done?
Is it possible to put models in maps, ie of like a marine? I'm sure it is...theres dead Barney's everywhere in HLSP. I'd like a dead marine...how would I go about doing this? And blood on walls...?

Sick-minded little old me wants some gore

Cycler or env_sprite (yes, env_sprite accepts models) are your best bet for the corpses. Getting them to use the proper animation sequence can be a bit tricky though, and would probably involve some model manipulation.
Use info_decals for the blood part. And note your map won't get official because of the "no gore" rule. Basicaly, Flayra wants the levels to be scary, but kid friendly.

As a general note: whenever you see an effect in-game and wonder how it was created, just open the .bsp file in QuArK and take a look. Note that many single player entities are not allowed in NS though. So in this case it probably would not have worked.
