<div class="IPBDescription">Software is 3vil</div> My computer has for quite some time suffered from problem with Adobe Reader. When I run it, the loading screen comes up but that's it. The area where the loading screen can then be covered by other things and will leave "ghost" images. I use Windows XP fully updated and my virus protection program is up to date as well so I don't think it's a virus. The net effect is that I can't use .pdf files which can be quite annoying at times and have to restart each time I try. I want to know if any of you can help me. If you need some other infomation, I'll try to fill you in as best I can especially if you tell me how to get said info. Thank you.

your version is probably out of date, and Acrobat has a very bad habit of putting those message boxes UNDER their splashs creen...

so hit windows key +d to minimize all
then alt tab till you get the dialog and choose to upgrade...

It's Adobe Reader 6.0 so I think it's the newest version. It also doesn't run as an application but I did find some things running as a process. Windows +d does get rid of the ghostly afterimage for a short while however.

I'm going to try out some other stuff. Hopefully something will work.
