Update...
It's currently around 30% done, with progress being slow but steady.
Onwards with the screens!

Firstly here's the retextured and almost done shower room. All it lacks in the 2nd entrance, custom shower models (brushes just don't do them justice) and water particle systems.

--- Corridor linking shower room to locker room, with broken panels leading to a little place for skulks and jetpackers.

It looks really good! One thing that I noticed is that there is no blood on the floor, but all the walls are covered in it. I think you should try to change the floortexture so it looks more realistic. Besides that, it's very nice! Unique style.

--- Entering locker room. Lift that leads to the actual crew quarters is in the upwards position, activiating by the switch by the green glow. Behind is the utility room.

--- More of the locker room. Lockers look a bit blurry cause they're 96x128, I'm going to resample them to 64x128 to give them clarity.

--- Utility room, discarded supplies such as toilet roll and clothes baskets plus a sink and ladder access to the crew quarters (if you don't fancy the lift).

--- A more revealing angle. The door is meant to lead to the toilet, but it's just there to qualify the fact that you'd expect such services for the crew, not be accessable; this isn't Natural Shatlection.

Thanks man, I was aiming for something unique; it's mainly due to the custom textures, kudos to Leon for that.
The shower wall doesn't have blood on it, it's just a tile pattern or perhaps decay if you want

Looks cool. I'm digging the custom textures. One ? though. All these screens are set in a locker room of sort. What kind of map is this, and where is it situated? Is the entire map just one big bathroom? Maybe that was more than one ? but I'm curious as to what the rest of the map will be if all you are showing off are bathroom pics.

Ah, fear not. This is just the crew sector of the map, where all the amenities and sleeping quarters are. The rest of the map is more standard NS fare, with dank machinery rooms, an observatory hive, rockified marine start, a cargo bay and a few other locales. I'm just mapping this section first as it's the centre of the map and is probably the most fresh visually, not to say the rest of the map will be ugly; more ns2-wadish

That's cool. I was just wondering a bit about all the bathroom pics :-).

The architecture is very nice but the tiles in the shower just don't feel like they belong there.

Yeah, like the walls are warn out, the roof is like an old factory, but then the tiles are all blue and shiny, maby the tiles could be a little more dirty, or cracked in some places.

imho it doesnt look like a normal starship (orbital whatsoever)

I find it too squared, maybe try some more detailed rooms or columns with computers ,etc....

About the tiles, yeah they're too rich, I'll reduce the saturation of them to make sure they fit the rest of the decor.
Blueman, I never said it was set on a spaceship. It's set on a stabilised asteroid; a geological base on which the base is built. I wanted the crew sector to look as human and rugged as possible, thus the square angles, concrete and amenities. I'm saving organic structures for areas near the hive, and also the machinery sector which will be full of curvatures and varying architecture.
    Stay tuned

IMHO the tiles just don't fit there. It's a space station/colony/whatever and the tiles just look "old".

Here's a small update, I've took some of the comments to heart: making the tiles fit in and look much better and also removing a hellishly sharp corner.

Below is a view from the area above the linking corridor, showing off the smoothed corner below and the desaturated tiles. I'm keeping the tiles in, because even in films like Alien 3, set far in the future, tiles are just one of those things that don't need changing because they work so well. They're iconic of showers. If you want, you can imagine they're made out of a new and exciting futuristic material with micro-draining pores that remove excess water perhaps.

--- Few more details added to the utility room, I fixed a vertex error with one of the clothes baskets, and added stagnant water to the sink with a little bar of soap underneath for when the marines get their faces dirty in combat.

Micro Draining Pores? I'm confused by all the science chit-chat!

Small update, showing off the elevator shaft sub-vent thingys; perfect for planning a suprise attack on whoever is using riding up or down. A vent system connects the 2 areas to the broken tiles above the shower-locker corridor.
After this it's onto the large-scale crew quarters, one of the more impressive and interesting rooms of the map. Should be fun
