Hlrad Screw-up

brute_forcebrute_force Join Date: 2003-10-04 Member: 21433Members, Constellation

Yes...
Uh, whenever I try to compile my map HLRAD screws up. BSP works fine, so does CSG and VIS, but after reading from nslights.rad it gives me one of those errors... "hlrad has caused an error in HLRAD.exe and will now close."

Here's my compile log:

And after that is where it screws up.

Maybe it's just an old compiler... I'm using Zoner's Half-Life Tools 2.5.3, I beleive. Any advice, anyone? It would be greatly appreciated.

Also: "** Command: D:\GAMES\SIERRA\HALF-L~1\ZHRT\HLCSG.EXE" <- I'm aware that it's supposed to be ZHLT.

You'd think that it completes successfully it's not an error, but hey ... it does say Windows.
    Very weird.

I think it can't find the tools or the file
    Check the paths.

Download the DLLs from the thread and put them in the directory with the tools.

    Ah, silly me.

Still doesn't work though - "Hlrad has caused an error in HLRAD.EXE"...

    Thanks for the help, though.

edit: Hmm. Natural-Selection doesn't work for me either. Whenever I try to connect to a server it gives me "Hl has caused an error in HL.EXE"... I tried downloading new graphic drivers, if that was the problem, but it didn't seem to work. So, basically, now I can't compile my map nor play NS or any HL mod. Isn't life great?

Search for viri and check your hard disks. Redownload NS, reinstall HL. Try to start up NS with as few background tasks as possible. Switch to software mode for testing etc... Try to find the exact point where NS won't work any longer. If nothing works just reinstall Windows
