I started playing NS in January of this year because of it being reviewed in PCZ, it was multiplayer and it was free (yes, I'm a cheap skate).
I stopped playing in about May as PCZ stopped their servers here in the UK, now I'm lost with all the updates and new versions etc.
So I was wondering if you kind people might know of any newbie friendly UK servers as I fancy starting again?

Please do not start saying "This server is better" or "This server sucks". Just some simple information like "<insert ip address here> This server is noob friendly and usually has lots of people on it".

it's easy to setup, add ips and join
I would recommend playing on cheating-death servers though, find it at <a href='http://www.unitedadmins.com/cdeath.php' target='_blank'>United Admin's website</a>.
It's a program you have to run to join a CD server, and makes hacks much more difficult to use.

I used to play on there, and one time i said hi to you Anderval and you ranted at me like some retarded monkey about how i'm a nub and you've never seen me before.
Funny how that was the last time i decided to play on that server after a month or two on there everyday.

premise 1 - there are hacks that work on VAC servers that don't work on CD servers
premise 2 - there are no hacks that work on CD servers that don't work on VAC servers
hence CD > VAC;
VAC > no anti-hack ==> CD > no anti-hack
CD is the best anti hacking/cheating solution for half-life.
Best wishes, and I agree with getting ASE or any other server searching tool. If you know IRC you can get on GamesNet and #naturalselection and ask for help.

On topic again the PCZ server <b>is</b> back up but everytime i look it's empty <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> was a good server while people played on it though.

Oh, things will be different now as well all have adsl too (who am I kidding), still crap at FPS's.
But, thanks guys (& gals) for your responses, I think I'll pop over to the muppetking or whatever that one was, the boss won't mind as he is away for the day......

I know better than to lay out a big rant against the server in a public place like this, but it's overrated and has adminning that is ... questionable. And that's me being kind.
I find most servers are helpful aslong as you tell people you are new to the game and listen to their advice. Its when you just run around acting like you know it all, building your own upgrade chambers and trying to go comm that people get really annoyed.
