<div class="IPBDescription">Low FPS's with steam...</div> Hi there.. I recently rigged NS up to work with steam, but I have been having low FPS problems. Now I have never had performance issues with NS(been playing since release day last year <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> ) or half life. My system specs are way above minimum.. wondering if I am the only one..

Seems very odd to me that high-poly games like Ut2003 and Max Payne 2 run fine, but 5 year old half life isnt <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->


system specs:

AMD Athlon Thunderbird at 1.3 Ghz
MSI K7 board (Via chipset)
768 MB PC-133 Ram
ATI Radeon 9000 pro - 128 MB V-RAM
40 Gb ATA-100 7200 RPM Maxtor HD
SB-live sound-card

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

and some other thing....try getting someone with an ATi card to help you with this, I think it's ati_subdivide or something....sadly I can't help from this point.

ANd I hear TruForm is a very big hit on framerates (from who? You guessed it, Talesin <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->)

Guess what?
Installing NS with steam automatically turns on 32bpp colors, and high quality something (Under options> advanced)
Go fix those two, and you should be back to normal

hmm.. trueform is disabled.. even at 640x480 and 16 bit colour... still friggen laggy.. I could understand if this was a Celeron 400 running off a TNT2.. but I got a friggen 1.3 Ghz athlon running a 128MB Radeon..

Can't believe I'm having trouble running a 5 year old game..

actually be glad you dont have more problems, card makers are focusing on newer games, not some 5 year old game that will be phased out soon anyways.
