Blitzball turns the schoolyard into a Nazi training camp and bombs start going off everywhere.
I was most definitely not a fan of A Separate Peace. It just plain....wasn't cool or stimulating in any way.
Oh well.
Steinbeck rocks, however. While Of Mice and Men is a fantastic book, I would recommend the seminal The Grapes of Wrath (if you somehow haven't read it already).
If you haven't? get on it. now. I promise you that you won't be disappointed
/me picks up a book and tries to emulate that the book is talking.
"Hello, I am a great book written by John Grisham, I write some of Sirus' favorite books, please read me ! I'm sure the rest of my other book friends by Grisham would be enjoyed by all"

Lennie was in for it because everyone thought he r*ped that girl, and they were going to kill him. If you remember from before, the old guy who had his dog put do death lamented not doing it himself; he said something like "you should always shoot your own dog." George killing Lennie was like killing his dog.
And personally, I've never really liked Steinbeck. I mean, I haven't read The Grapes of Wrath so I really shouldn't be talking, but I didn't finish Cannery Row and only finished Of Mice and Men because it was short. Oh well, I've always been a horrible judge of books (i.e. I don't like all of the classics).
We did this in class. (My teacher's a HUGE Steinbeck fan. Last year, I was in his class, too. We did "The Pearl".) It's a great book. And yes, the entire book centers around mercy killing if you think about it. Candy let his dog be shot (Even though he regretted not doing it himself, after) because it was old, blind, crippled, and probably already in a lot of pain. The person who shot it shot it for selfish reasons, though. (It stunk.)
I remember reading that, it was a great book I'd say. Today I just finished reading a one thousand page Stephen King book called "Insomnia," and you know that feeling you get after reading a good book? Well something along those lines happenned to me. Now I am starting to read a long biography of Admiral Nelson-quite boring, really boring.
This topic also reminds me of a short story our class read back in grade 9, it was called: "The Most Dangerous Game."
