I like how there are many paths to get places, it will make it easier to sneak around. Looks great, hope to test it as well. And I guess you can place structures around the map, there is a co map with active phase gates, it adds a cool strategy type element to combat. Good work esuna.

The map looks very compact. Two vents will really hurt aliens, but because the level is so small, more would hurt marines. Can you post another image of the map but with the hive locations, marine start, and where the res is?

I just stumbled on to this thread, and i must say esuna, what a promising map
Hope this get's considered into 2.1, i want to play it
Bah, well 3.0's going to be released in the next month (Holiday season), it would appear that co_dawn won't be making it, oh well. It's just too late for any testing to be done on it, and before the release i forsee a mad Flayra running around like a headless chicken fixing bugs, so i figure it's not top priority to bring something else in to complicate things.
It would've been nice y'know, but realistically, it's not going to be.
Well, since 3.0 has a release coming up, i'm now officially setting the release of this map to the very same day. In it's present state it's entirely playable, so i've got a month to play with it, tweak it, maybe run a closed test and polish it all off for release.

Meaning it's a possible build for release. RC 1 was a bit of a lie, actually, with the RR entirely missing it wasn't ready for release, so technically this should be RC2. But then again, thinking about it, i'm on about RC5 now.
Well, here's the latest changelog in the readme, it's virtually done now, polishing the map and adding a bit more ambience is so much more fun than building it. You get to see it how you envisioned from the beginning, it's such a lovely sight.
RC5a : Entirely new environment map, much sexier! : Fixed some lighting to accomodate for the new sky since orange light coming from a blue sky would be a bit odd. :-) : New steam sprite to replace blacksmoke1.spr because that i have no idea where it came from.
RC5 : Lost previous changelogs, so new changelog started. : New environment map, still work in progress. : New warning stripe texture, still work in progress. : Minor r_speeds tweaking, hope that's the last of it.

And as a little preview, the RR ambience is here and attached to this is the new environment map. The environment map may get some modifications, but this is the base for it all.

Very cool Not quite sure how that ambience works out, but cool all the same.
Very impressive sky box, and a lovely slice of ambience there. It's getting more promising by the day
I think the Dawn logo on the first batch of Screenshots is well designed especially if it only took you ten minutes. The colour is bold ,and well projected on the texture behind. The shapes have that futuristic feel (cant really explain) although at first glance I thought it was Stalins personal space station. the sickle-like-shape decived me lovely. I love the small details like the logo, just adds that realism, and industrial feel.
Ok, the logo has been well talked about.
The only fault I could see was the hole in the wall ( the room with the crates), it looks to man-made...but this has already been commented on.
Well Fam was saying the colours weren't too vibrant, and im inclined to agree, so here's the new skybox. Now with added sun!
Onto RC6 now and i must admit that the map's just getting closer and closer to the point where i can't do anything more to it. Huzzah. Here's the latest addition to the changelog.

QUOTE

RC6 : Rebuilt the storage hold hive entrance to be less "human looking". : info_locations everywhere! : Added new light to brighten the storage hold hive entrance, accompanied with a standing light model. And for everyone that was complaining about the storage hold 4a entrance being a bit man made, here's a screenie of what it's like now.

I give to you a 1 minute walk around of the map. It's only in 320x240, the compression screwed up the lighting / gamma, but you get to see the sights and sounds in a way that screenshots never will.
Oh yeah, i't encoded in the DiVX 4 codec. 4CC: DIVX/dvx4 Name: DivX 4 (OpenDivX). The audio stream is in mp3 format. If you have divx 5, etc, installed, i'm pretty sure it's compatible.

Well, i may be adding one or two for external detailing, but they'll be pretty low poly anyway (far away), and i think i can handle low poly modelling.
