Tips For Having Steady Hands

<div class="IPBDescription">when drawing?</div> I would like to know if all you artists here draw with long strokes to precise measure or gently stroke little by little when drawing something, for example: a hand.

And if you do it the first way, how do you get your hands to be that stable for a certain line?

lightly with a pencil first, and draft it.

Then do another "coat" with a pencil, but harder and more visable.

And use a ruler when needed.

steady hand? hmm... i would suggest that you shouldn't be hungry when you draw, cus it can make your hand shake (in my experience).
I always draw with my wrist too. it helps to keep things steady.

If you do it quickly, you can make a pretty straight line, but that's quickly... Other than that I dont' know.

Sketching is good. That way, you don't HAVE to aim! Or have a steady hand. You know - whatever.

Sketching is also easy, and it looks like crap.

I havent never drawn straight lines, its just something what some people do and some cant. Always what I've seen, straight lines are made little by little. Normal tip for making straight line is first making two dots in between you draw the line, it simply helps when your brains can coordinate exactly 'from' and 'to' points.
