<div class="IPBDescription">And Let no Siege Stop You!</div> So far I've had several highly successful games today that involved the construction of extenive mini bases nearby to the marine area that is being targeted for distruction - masses of defense *and* movement chambers allowed us to storm the last hive that the marines had moved into, even though they had lamed the heck out of the place with turrets everywhere.

I've just not seen too much construction of *anything* by the aliens except for hive defenses recently, and you'll rarely if ever see anything besides OCs outside of base. But movement chambers are, to be quite honest, a God among chambers when constructed at a strike base - lerks can toss almost infinite amounts of spores and umbra by relying on constant energy regeneration by several nearby movement chambers, not to mention bringing your fades back up to snuff in record time.

Certainly sieges might make these bases less convenient, but please remember that the Gorge can do more than just spit and healspray - some well spent resources in the right place can increase the offensive power of your alien attack force severalfold, as well as allowing you to keep *constant* pressure on the marines, instead of giving them intervals to repair and get ready for your next attack.

Most permagorges will slap up some chambers near any prospective marine base. Once the SC is in place, the comm has to ping in order to find those chambers, and if you're a clever git you can drop chambers all around his base so that one ping won't get them all.

Essential for wars of attrition, which generally only occur at endgame although with low-skill players you can see several battles over locations which can be resolved with some judicious chamber dropping.

    cover the map in sensories.

You *could* do that however thats a lot of res better spent elsewhere in the majority of cases.

Half of most maps doesn't require sensory because you can use the vent system. Bear in mind 5 sensories would cover about 1/4 of most maps yet would amount to a new hive.
