watch out for him in ns_siege005_005!
But one thing is going wrong, you see, when i open him in model viewer he looks fine, he also looks fine in the beta hammer, but when i compile the map he looks like crap, all the colors are wrong and he comes out looking grey not green. how do i fix this?

In your HL settings, is your colour depth at 32?

I understand what he;s saying, for somr reason, Barney looks like crap when edited, I converted him to AHL before but the colors went all nuts, i belive it has somthing to do with the Team color support of oh so long ago

What are the names of the skin files? It could be trying to alter the cloth color dynamically like you can under the player customization menu.

::EDIT:: Wait a sec, color depth 32? You shouldn't even be able to compile with more than 8 bits. Index the skins and the recompile. ::EDIT::

I beleive he was talking about Half-life's color depth, studiomdl wont spit out a model with a 32-bit bitmap...

Although HL only supports 8 bit textures, you can RENDER them at 16 or 32 bpp, which allows HL to make mipmaps ingame (rendering stuff to make HL look good at different distances)

Btw, if you have problems with team colors, in MS3D, change the names of the materials and the .bmp files to something OTHER then dm_base.bmp.

In HL, when it see a model with a texture name like that, rows 5 and 6 from the .bmp's color pallete are used to create the team color that you cna change with the sliders in the HL launcher under CUSTOMIZE.
