<div class="IPBDescription">Please change the swear filter</div> We here in the discussion forum debate a wide range of topics, many of which are mature or biological in nature. This forum I believe is sort of a special case; the level of maturity in here is expected to be much higher, and most of the time this remains true.
Yet when we try and discuss issues such as homosexuality, or sex, the swear filter kicks in and certain terms are removed. In the other NS forums, this is a logical occurance, as such terms really have little or no place there, and are often used in an insulting manner. But not so in the discussion forum.
Thus I am requesting that the swear filter be modified for this forum. If we prove to be immature brats who can't handle the heady glory of being able to say "p e n i s", then by all means switch it back. However, given our track record in discussing many controversial topics with maturity and control, I believe that we can prove able to not abuse this.
Obviously I am not suggesting the removal of vulgar or crude terms. Simply those such as biological names for organs or non-offensive terms for people of a homosexual nature.
Now I posted this here because I really didn't think S&I was the right place to put it. If I have erred, by all means move this post to the relevant forum.

Keep the cursing filters on, just eliminate those words that we tend to use.
Basically Highschool biology/health (sex ed) class terms that we will use should be removed.

Plz go read an anatomy textbook. And yes, i mean textbook, not internet search. I'm quite certain an internet search for those terms will <b>not</b> yield the desired information.
This isn't like the **** Tribalwar community, it's not like every post you see someone flaming somone. I understand censoring racial slurs and the like... but man, we're not kindergartners. Cut us SOME slack...
