A Few Mapping Questions

If I tie two brushes to the same entity, by highlighting 2 brushes, then clicking on tie to entity, will it count as two entitys or one? And also where can I find like normal household textures, like bed textures and stuff like that, I tried wadfather but couldn't find any there.

Edit: One more question, when useing the vertex manipultaion tool, sometimes you miss the red or white square and you end up making a dotted line box, as if you were makeing a brush, but then you can't use the vertex manipultaion tool anymore. How do you get rid of the dottted line box? The only way I've found was to save my progress, and to restart Hammer.

    It counts as one entity.
Dont know were you could get those textures!
If i'm right all you have to press is "return" and the box should go away.
but if the box is covering any verticies it will select them!!!

If you can find a CS map that has some of that normal house stuff like mansion or something Im sure that .wad would have it.

the second question: this happens to me on occasion it helps to decrease cpu usage ( set **** ti render in wireframe ) and then select the camera, tehn teh maganfying glass, nd finally the select tool. this works for me sedeems to be an issue with cpu use and changin tools, in most case thsi will fix teh problem if not you will have to reset.

You can also change some VHE settings to increase performance.

Go to tools->options and hit the 3d views tab. There you can uncheck animate models and filter textures. The animate models thing really isn't all that valuable in NS (although it is kind of cool to watch your hive do it's hive movements while you edit that room) Filter textures turns off a texture smoothing process that, while it makes things look pretty in your textured 3d view, also makes life hard on your video card. You also can lower the back clipping plane, which will make the 3d view not render objects beyond that distance in units (current setting is 5000.... which is a big big rendering) This will help, just don't lower it below around 2k or so if you want to be sure you'll see both the room your on and any hallways. These should set you up and let you see your texturing while you edit.

Turning off animate models and filter textures won't make much of a difference, the main ones are model render distance and the back clipping plane <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
