ive got it and now i wanna play it but i get to play it then after a while the comp just goes off, i dont know why, it happened on americas army to and half life when i alt and tab out of it...

what do i do?

amd athlon 1200mhz
windows xp
geforce 2
256 ram
cable modem ( if thats fucknig it up which i doubt )

    www.blizzard.com and www.battle.net have excellent support forums and FAQs. I suggest you use them.

    edit: and i have a cable modem too, but i dont get the problem, so its not the thing "fucknig it up"

    Possibly, although I recently was using XP proffesional and i could Alt-Tab outta half life no problem.

    I get similar problem, usauly occurs during resoloution changes, but not for all games. I almost think it's XP's way of dealing with games trying to get their fair share of CPU power.

    I run all mentioned games on Win XP Proffesional without problems... I would suggest to reinstall your video/sound card drivers and any other game-related driver. Be sure you get the latest drivers from the manufacutrer(?).  But i remember a time when Half-Life randomly crashed. I never realised why, but now it doesn't crash anymore... As your problem occurs not only in W3, i don't think its a good idea to ask in the Bnet-Support-Forum...

    Sbv did you try unistalling the games on the drive then reinstalling them, some times that happens to me, than i unistall, install it again and my game works perfectly. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> Ramses I also rememeber when Half-Life crashed me and my friend were playing it at his house(He had that game for a long time), and it didnt work.     Try changing the game's compatibility mode. that's in the shortcut settings.

    Bozo means you should check the properties of the short cut and go to the compatibilty tab. There you can tell it to run the game as if it were win 98. This may solve your problem.

    Hold on i think i have it. XP is the one with different profiles for different family members right? i heard you should run all games under a profile with administrative powers.

    im back, i installed 98 - i had no sound and no internet but warcraft worked and i completed it in under 5days <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    i tried that thing where you make it run as if it were 98 but it didnt work...
