<div class="IPBDescription">and one very cool elevator</div> Ok, wanted to do something special for the transition from marine spawn to the well, my central conflict area in co_cerberus. So, I went and built an elevator....that turns into stairs. You'll need ns.wad to run it, but that should just about do it. Screenshots don't really do it justice, since it's still in development and doesn't really look pretty, so here's a very very tiny bsp.

*edit* put the env_gamma in my cordoned area this time...lighting looks a little better for the one person who downloaded the first version.

    I really like the idea but the effect is a little broken. And not to mention there is a leak in the map since flying around the map shows textures on the outside.

    Actually this is just a portion of the map that I cut out using VHE's cordon state. In the regular version it doesn't have that problem.

    How is the effect broken? I just noticed that one of the steps doesn't quite rise far enough when the elevator goes up, is it that or something else?

    if you get stuck while on one of the steps (going up) the step stops and the elevator keeps going, this will give you nightmares unless you add a crush value i think , get a second opinion

    It has a crush value already, just doesn't work since this is a readyroom character with no health to take from. In game it should work (will be testing that soon)

    I'll be fixing the alignment shortly...... guess I was a little too excited about just getting the thing to work.

    counting all of the buttons it totals out to twenty. Four for the physical elevator, eight to define two stop points, three to realign the steps on the way back up, four buttons, and a multimanager to control it all.

    needless to say i'm not designing for official release here.
