There is only 1 thing to break that....

    TEAMWORK

Just get an Onos, a Lerk, a Gorge and a Skulk then umbra them while they munch away

But if you really get lucky just get to the TFs blind spoty

    That is always hella fun.

Anyway, to do this, one should usually go skulk, so death does not waste res. Upgrades might be in order, but nothing else. Also skulk is the smallest so it is easier to hide behind the TF. Finally, if you are a skulk, make sure to parasite as many structures as you can without getting hit. It helps a lot...

If there's a turtle base, then the marines are either stuck in that base...or they've got so much res that they can drop a ton on defenses, hence they're pwning the aliens.

Let's say they're stuck in base...just drop the 3rd hive and try to contain them. Once 3rd hive is up, xenocide until they break under the pressure. This may take a LONG time if the marines are competant, and they have GLs and/or HAs. 8 times out of 10, xenocide will eventually break a turtle base. The remaining 2 times are when a HA train is formed and breaks out, or when the aliens suddenly turn into complete nubs.

Primal scream a celerity onos. They can run in, eat a HA, and get out before taking too much damage. Once they're starved for res and they can't outfit any more guys with HA, lerk spores and skulk xeno will make quick work of the remaining defenders. Then its just a matter of taking down the IPs, which is pretty easy for gorges to bile bomb when they don't have to worry about GLs and HMGs.

A healing station just outside of siege range is helpful for your attackers. Drop as many D chambers as you can so your fades and oni can quickly heal up and get back into the fight. If you put it too close you end up hurting your team as they start taking siege splash damage.

Have skulks, lerks, and fades go in after an onos. Most marines will plug away at the big pink target, giving the other guys some breathing room. Skulks should stick to eating structures (does more harm to a res starved team than killing basic LMG marines), lerks dumping umbra for the onos, and fades blinking around to distract and swiping people as they reload.

For pub games, its mostly waiting until your team somehow gets the magical combination of teamwork and ability to break through. Keep plugging away at the base, and eventually another teammate will follow you in and help out. =)

If I can't kill the bonsai-base, I camp the IP. Pisses marines off more then you can imagine, but I tell them: Hey, you made it so I can't attack your base.

BTW: On Bonsai base is a base with one or two electrified turret factories that zap anything that gets near any base item built in its' vicinity, effectively alien-proofing your whole base until midgame. No turrets.

It costs 90 res to get 2 elec TF's. And you end up with a cramped base that is hard to move around in and that is *extremely* vulnerable to BB attacks. If you were to put that res into a regular TF and 7-8 turrets you'd be a lot better off. Well, if you had to put the res into static defense.. of course you'd be even better off putting it inot such things as upgrades and expansion most of the time.

Anyway... the thing that makes turtled Marines last is alien stupidity. Marines may have only one RT, but with all the stupid skulks constantly suiciding it feels more like 3 or 4. Basically solo aliens attacking feeds the Marines and allow them to stay alive. What you need to do is make co-ordinated attacks´. Nothing fancy, just attack at the same time instead of one by one.

BB is by far the best and most effective base-clearing option. A gorge gang will clean out any base in a manner of seconds if they can stay alive. Against end-game rines in HA with 3/3 upgrades that usually isn't possible without an Onos distraction and some umbra though. The gorges only cost 10 res a piece, so what I suggest is:

Get a few cows and a lerk, have *everyone* else go Gorge and just rush in there bilebombing like crazy.

This is assuming you only have 2 hives and *somewhat* limited res. If you have 3 hives and/or high res, no base poses a real problem to break, assuming people aren't being idiots (which is usually the problem).

Neither the turrets nor electricity are threatening against an onos. The marines are, but umbra really helps. If there are turrets blocking the path to the marines, just stand outside the turret farm and stomp the marines. Running into the farm will get you stuck and killed most likely. While the onos is being tickled by the turrets and the marines are stomped, the gorge(s) can merrily bilebomb the whole mess. If you are fighting electrified TFs instead of turrets, just charge your onos butt on in there and eat them one by one.

If you only have one hive, there is limited hope for you in all sorts of situations. Chances are you goofed up somewhere too, since you should really have 2 hives (it's not THAT hard). If you don't have 2 hives, and the marines are goofing around, you can just pin them in until the 2nd hive goes up.

Assaulting any fortified position with a fade (except using acid rocket only) is a waste of res. They'd be better off killing some rts somewhere or something.

Teamwork, xenocide, big rushes, and precision attacks on key structures - ie mr tfac. Once Mr Tfac is dead, you've a good few minutes of time to rape right through anything else that takes your fancy.

The one think I enjoy is if the base has two enterences, have 2 celerity Oni run in from each side and take down a turret on each run. This whittles away their static defences while the lerks/skulks deal with the rines.
