As my game-making skills are improving I am making an RPG game, this one will have a slightly unique concept tho (none that ive seen, maybe ophan has it? i havent played that tho <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->).
Now, a great deal of the game will include summons, the player can summon creature in and out of battle.
Anyways, how to play it (still in development)...
S=Summoned creature(s)
P=Player
M=Monster
B=Battle Arena
S----->

The player walks around in diablo/dungeonseige style (its 3d and u can rotate and zoom in (that parts done))If a summon sees a monster it will chase.

Summon engages monster (hp is visible above monsters head) (Anyone played Gaurdians Crusade?, well uc an see the actual monster in this not just a ghost with a mean face <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)
NOW...
4 Things may happen...
1.Summon destroys monster.
2.Monster destroys summon then engages player (more on engaging the player later...)
3.Player forces engagement. (By runing up to adn touching monster...)
4.Player runs away, summon will follow when player gets far enuf (or the summon gets killed by monster...)
1.Player carrys on walking uninjured.
2.See No.3.
3.Battle sequence will start, screenshakes and view changes to gta3 type 3rd person view (Any non-engaging summons get teleported near player) then a lava wall will enclose around the player and he will fight monster using gta3/halflife controls.
You have a spear, u may (during battle, aside from strafe, jump)
1.Thrust spear, stab sorta thing, maybe caused to apply states like ff8 if dipped in poison.
2.Throw spear, same state effects but slightly weaker and may move rather slow depending on the player's "throw" power...
3.Summon a monster or wall (walls can only be summoned during battle, provides a barrier from enemies, used for strategy.)
Other stuff...
Don't forget summons willl help you too, some may heal you if your helth is low.
Some summons have a life span (Magic swords, etc.)
Ok that is basics on how to battle and engage.
Now I am far from finished (I haven't even got a proper player model (using the default one)) and I am using a hell lot of quake 2 models (that is alrite since this is freeware).
I have done quite a bit tho, mana and helth panels r set up and looking good...

Unfortunatly I have not set up the battle system yet, all I can do is wlk around and summon monsters whilst watching my mana go down and regenerate and the summons following me around <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
