Free reign on Alien upgrades
Would it be easy enoug to make a plugin that allows aliens to have as many upgrades as they want from each chamber, depending on the number of hives...

EG:

On 1 hive its same as normal, on 2 they have 2 chambers and can choose any 2 upgrades (not limited to 1 from each chamber), and on 3 hives they could have 3 upgrades from any chamber they want, mix n match (what ever)...

I would just like to see how this would effect the balance NS2.01 before 2.1 comes out and I would like to have fun with a Regen Adren Silence lerk

I think this would be possible (it's simply a matter of setting the appropriate upgrade flags), but the problem would be selecting the upgrades. The NS client DLL prevents the player from selecting more than one upgrade from the same chamber. The only way around this (I think) is to use binds to select the additional upgrades.

If I remember correctly, the greyed out selections on the NS radial menu will just be that, greyed out. They still send impulses to the server.

This would be hard to make it work 100% (such as turning into an egg, and taking time to upgrade), however, doing it the easy way (just deducting resources and giving the upgrade) shouldn't be too difficult.

Edit: Also, I remember I played around with something like this when I was writing a seperate plugin, at least in 2.01, it doesn't display the multiple upgrades from the same chamber nicely. Example, you get carapace and regeneration, the two HUD icons would be right ontop of each other.

Wait until 2.1, then the icons should have the correct code to align themselves
It should still work, even in normal NS

Or you could just wait for Combat...

Wait for 2.1, it allows multiple upgrades from one chamber in NS:C, at this point is should be easier to make work?

i'm constellation member, so i've seen and played ns 2.1 and Ns:Combat
In ns combat you can get EXACTLY what you want here.
So just wait until 2.1, and then have the time of your life!
Or offcourse, join the club, donate!

He wants this for normal NS, not combat.

And, I've been in "the club" since july, still haven't gotten an email from flayra for the 2.1 betas.
