<div class="IPBDescription">My new Fix.</div> Oh.
My.
God.
What heaven. I haven't even finished the single player(its really short, about 7-10 hours worth, or less), but its fun as hell. I'm on the 4th Russian(final full campaign) mission, and am loving every moment(level name: Pavlov's House). Heres some examples of the levels they never told you about:
1st Level: You drop in as a pathfinder(someone who sets up the signal to let the other airborne troops drop to), and set up the signal. Then, you gotta defend the drop zone from tons of Nazis, then, move through tons of alleys and buildings to get to the nearest town (Ste. Mere Eglise- this is the 1st demo. The second demo then follows).
Another level: You start out near a P.O.W. camp, take out the guards, and your buddies drive through the gates, and you have 10 minutes to go in, grab a British official, and make it back, before the germans get reinforcements.
Another (russian) level: You go through the sewers, finding Nazi's all over the place, and a few Russians here and there, who go along with you once you go, the whole time, every 2 minutes, you hear a german loudspeaker talking about how the germans are your friends. Then they shoot you.
And to say the least, there is one bad part- The whole british campaign after the 2nd level(defending pegasus bridge- its called that for the group that captured and defended it). But luckily, once the British campaign is over, you go to the Russians- and wow, what a campaign its been. When you hear the communist theme start up, you just about cry(and thats the 1st level of that campaign!).
And multiplay- man, what a great, GREAT multiplay. I mean, you can tell that while they didn't do much work in it, it is still REALLY fun. Netcode is solid- pings(and natural speeds) were like I was playing Half-Life. The animations make just about everything look professional, and even though there is no voice comm, many of the people are smart enough to know when to follow, and when not to. Its truly gripping- especially the "Carentan" level. If you ever watched Band of Brothers- remember that Ep? Now, imagine it without the bombing. Now, TONS more MG-42s, and Nazis. Ok, you see? Oh ya, BIG fun. Seriously. I think I've played 6 hours, JUST that level.
To say the least- GET THIS DAMN GAME. Its....amazing. Purely amazing. The demos don't show you ANYTHING of its greatness. BUY IT NOW. (if you get it from EBGames, you get the soundtrack. Some other place has a artbook for it, don't remember the site, but I think EBGames still has the free 2 day shipping[that I got!])

Erm.... I downloaded the first one for free off Fileshack. Boy I must've played that 3 whole minutes before deleting it in disgust. Sorry :/

Amen, amen. And I've seen previews and a review of the 2nd- nothing has been fixed. Oi.
Uh...no offense, but what kind of idiot are you? Your on a forum for a action game. Not to mention, whats wrong with them? I love Combat Mission, it rocks, but I absolutely hate Hidden and Dangerous. Your enemies are sniper rifles with EVERYTHING, and your AI is particularly stupid, as the interface is VERY terrible.
Don't be a idiot. Jeez.
killcam is the worst invention ever. and ANY games with it should die. Most notably CoD and DoD

But what if I only command?
ha <i>HA</i>!
The irony is that you're making assumptions about the second without playing them, but reading articles. But that's your own prerogative.
I'm **** off.
Exactly.
Combat Mission forever!
I smell upcoming mod!
That ought to be fun <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> Haven't played that game for a while. I liked it how you could "improvise" a make your own silencer <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
you'll have to wait for the multiplayer to come out <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Also, if you PLAY Call of Duty, you'd realise the difference between the other WW2 games and this. BIG difference. Just don't play the brit missions- their like MoH:AA, and fun, but NO WHERE near like the others.
And ya, the Russian campaign rocks. BIGTIME. I'd like that German controversial campaign myself, but I think it'd be rather boring, being half the things you fight wouldn't have weapons.

NS > CoD
That would be awesome, so long as it wasn't the same engine, and different people made it.
CoD is out. I'm getting it today ^^
Anyone else have wierd problems with the AI? I didnt have it in the demos, but in the game the othertroops dont go anywhere until i am a good 100 yaards ahead. Really ruins the game.

That sounds like your CPU is getting low. Is something taking up resources? Otherwise, it shouldn't be doing that. Try reinstalling.

Im getting the same thing sometimes, the AI waits for me to act first before they move ahead. No, not a low CPU, or anything like that... glitch in the code or something? I dunno...cause it only happens sometimes
I'd like to take the time to revisit this quote with an added emphasis:
<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->No. Hidden and Dangerous <span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'><b>2</b></span>. Well, well. Aren't you just a stain on life?
I have a mildly similar dilemma as with Mullet:
Grand Theft Auto Double Pack comes out on the 4th...and I've been waiting for it for a pretty long while.
There's also Call of Duty which I want to get (among other games), the demos are fun, and I know I'll get more than 7 hours out of it (same thing with 2 GTAs). However...THE RUSSIANS DON'T SPEAK RUSSIAN....and that's idiotic. It would ruin the immersion.
The germans speak german, so what's up with the russians? bah.
Now, which one should I actually buy? I just can't decide...if they spoke Russian, it'd be CoD, but they don't <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> .
You're not buying a game based on the fact that the Russians in it don't speak Russian? Oooookaaaaay.....
Shame about the British missions sucking. Doesn't mean i'm not going to buy the game at some point. And of course I still get my Enfield for multiplayer, yay!
(please let the enfield have a bayonet)

thats the problem. Didnt happen in the demo...
The british missions can be boring, but definitely are fun.
You should definitely get it for the car mission in the american campaign - Best mission ever.
Looking forward to the russian missions.
