Actually radeon but who cares
I noticed theres an ad for the Radeon 9800XT and 9600XT running in gaming magazines currently. Its two pages with Gordon and the scientist chick right beside him. Gordon has the trademark crowbar. Scientist chick has a wrench.... possible playable character maybe?

That's probably just her Melee weapon.

Which was my logic.... could she be a new character we get to play as... and why doesn't Gordon ever take the HEV suit off? Doesn't he get smelly after a while?

Well, a long long long long time ago, the first thing I heard about HL2 (PC Gamer, Apr 2002) said: "In the Half-Life sequel we could have two main characters to control - Gordon Freeman and a new female co-star"

^They probably ment with the "Use" key.^

If you're able to play as her that's retarded. Why? What's the point?

because in order to make the singleplayer long enough they have to have excuses to take away all your guns. how many times did they do that in number one?

changing characters is a good way of doing it...

Once. Err... Twice if you count the end after you beat Nihilanth and talk to G-Man.

The only time it happens is right before "Residue Processing" after you fight the Assassin's for the first time.

Next FPS that pulls that "OMG you just keel 179 bad guys but 1 punches j00 0ut and now j0o loose all ur gunz! soriez!" get a swift kick in the balls. It so amazingly retarded to think your character can kill wave after wave of baddies, yet by the stupidest means, gets captured BUT not killed.

Bah, anyhow, the scientist in the background is Alyx. I don't think you get to play her in HL2, but shes more of a sidekick.

Heh. Try playing said FPS on the highest level of difficulty next time, instead of 'Easy'. It's perfectly believable at that point that one could come up on you and knock you out.

Storyline progression. Sorry, it doesn't happen if you're the bad-*** from hell. You can just blast away anything standing in your path. Hostage situation? They know there'll be a number of people who won't care, and will just blast the hostage too.

Oh, and at the time of this writing, apparently Gordon will not be able to carry every weapon simultaneously. Sure, he'll still be able to have a nice loadout... but he isn't going to be the walking armory he was in HL1.

No, Half-Life's still easy on Hard. And it's still kinda stupid.

That's why we have the fade-to-black followed by the

    Subject: Gordon Freeman
Status: Subject was being controlled by a sadistic retard who wanted to kill a storyline-vital character

That's a shame, no humping for Gordon then
